Hi all
I've had a really busy two days. Yesterday I phoned all my creditors and they were all really good except Lloyds who I have 3 debts with and they wouldn't do anything. The woman kept saying I will have to pay the minimum and I asked her how they expected me to do that because I have no job and I need to eat and she got stroppy so I mentioned the B word (bankruptcy) hoping that would make her go a bit easier on me but that still didn't work. They ain't having money I've not got. I then mentioned another B word and hung up the phone (I know I shouldn't have but she really wound me up). So I have decided to ring either payplan or CCCS in the next few days or the CAB to see if they can help.
Today I have been round all the recruitment agencies on the Isle of Wight but there isn't alot of work and they are hoping it will pick up after the new year. I hope so too! I have also been to the job centre to sign on. I won't get any money for 2 weeks but it will help when it arrives I will be able to eat again. I should have enough tins of beans for the next two weeks. I was shocked at how much you have to prove that you are looking for work but I supose that its so people don't cheat the system. And unfortunatly there were no jobs there either.
On the plus side our local paper comes out tomorrow so I'm hoping that there might be a job or two that I can apply for in there.
I'm still waiting for my statements to come through before I can update this months payments. Its anoying that it looks like I've not made a start on this challenge but I have.
Been doing loads of daily clicks and scratch cards.
Keep up the good work everyone.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -

Madmich, welcome to the mad house!
I can say from a recuritment consultant perspective, that you won't hear about jobs until the end of January... It hurts but jobs don't start coming on the market until mid-january ish... sort of...
Be strong and keep on applying and something will come up! Have you looked at Gosport and Portsmouth just in case the island doesn't come up trumps? The navy are looking for people I know in their clerical points of view...

Walshyboy84 thanks for that info. I did think about looking at Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymmington aswell because of ferry links but worked out that I would neek to earn an extra £2,000 so that after tax I would be able to pay for the ferry and the parking. It is still something that I am looking in to.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0

Yay!!! an extra 11.31 paid off for me today from an amazon payment i had arrive in my account. That has come off my halifax loan which is my biggest one to concentrate on now. The balance outstanding as of today is 1010.25 and is my next target!!
its a shame as i have a credit card with £704 on it which i would dearly love to be rid of but they were really funny about overpayments whereas blair oliver and scott will accept any amount without question. I'd rather be able to call and make regular overpaymetns as if the money sits in my account it will go on emergency petrol or something silly like that!!
so, 1010.25, how quickly can i get that cleared... hmmmdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
