Hi all
Well done on all those paying off money.
I've had a bad week. I started my new job on Monday and yesterday I got told there wasn't enough work and got told to go home. Thats two jobs I've been made redundant from in the last week!!! And it doesn't look like I'm going to get paid for the two days that I worked cos the company is in a bit of trouble.
I've made my payments for this month but I'm waiting for the statements to come in before I update my totals. While I'm off work I'm going through all my stuff and finding as much as possible that I can put on ebay and I'm heading off to the up your income board to see what else there is as I really want to do this challenge. I am contacting payplan or CCCS today once I have sorted out my benefits (as I can't survive without them) to deal with setting up a payment plan for my debts as I had already done this but now that I have no job its going to be difficult.
On the plus side I have got through this xmas without increasing my debts and that has been difficult but it feels so good.
And tomorrow I have got three interviews with recruitment agencies and I'm hoping that I can have an interview with the jobcentre before xmas.
Keep up the good work everyone!DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -
Sarah - I am going to sound really stupid, but do you mean I am being too careful? How do you sort out your tax for STP (if you do) or is there anywhere on here that will tell me?0

Well done madmich, sounds like you're doing all the right things in teh face of many difficulties. I too have managed to get through this frenzy of present buying without using any credit cards (am determined not to ever use them again except for unavoidable large purchases). Feels really good to know that Christmas is paid for (except the food shop) when I look at my account.0

Not having a good day either! Having a problem with my drains - again! paid £70 last wek to have them blasted - but blocked again - drain man says it' a problem further down the road but neighbour refuses to pay anyon to look as she says she hasn't got a problem! So probably more money to pay out! and I found out today that I will have to pay out £400 to Lloyds before they will release morgage (ex should pay half of this but won't and haven't got time to fight about it - as needs to be sorted by fri or i will loose the mortgage offer!)
Anyway after all that waffle - I probably will only manage minimum payments this month!!!!!0 -
£4.00 going towards my Student Loan that has been taken from my wages before I am paid it. It's normally only £2.00 a week but being paid 2 weeks money this week as it's Christmas. The new terms and conditions at my work have been accepted however, so I will either be told this week I am going to be made redundant or from 10th Jan next year I will be earning 10% less due to a pay cut so I am looking for a new job. Applied for 2 already but not heard anything yet0

Hiya everyone, I would LOVE to join this challenge if possible?, £20k by next xmas would be fantastic for us. I will add to my sig and start from last night when I overpaid some CC's, the thought of us owing jointly less than £20k by this time next year is amazing, plus I need a challenge like this to aim for and make me knuckle down, have been spending too much in the run up to xmasAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00
