Just a quick one to say
Happy Birthday Twink!!!
and good luck Beth, I'm sure it will be fine. Will you get someone to update us how you are? And enjoy the chance to sit back & do the reading
Study day at home today, so porridge & brown sugar for breakfast I think, and maybe eggy bread or an omelette for lunch. Will have to go to Mr T for something for supper. Also thought I may brave town first thing (as oldest DD wants a lift to college....) and get some Xmas presenty bits. Want to get my girls things like face-wipes, cotton wool, cotton buds, etc for their XmasSocks. And will look for some inspiration for my brothers & their other halfs.
(((((hugs))))) to all those needing them. Have a good day.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning :hello:
Happy Birthday Twink :bdaycake:
Our rabbit was given the all-clear at the vets last night :T Last week I opened the cage for her to have a run around, she tried to jump out and just kind of flopped out, rolled over and laid still. She wouldn't eat or drink and couldn't move her back legs at all. We all thought she'd have to be put down but after treating her like a newborn baby - hand feeding her and holding the water bottle in her mouth so she could drink, there were 'nappy changes' too, she had to lie on towels which I had to change each time she peed - she's fine. The vet showed me some physio exercises so I'm a personal trainer for the next few weeksHe was so pleased she was OK that he didn't charge me for last night's appointment :T
I haven't done a thing for Christmas, except order the turkey. I want to cook and freeze the food for our Christmas Eve party day (we do it each year - open house from 11am) but there's no freezer space at the mo. I usually just buy the frozen party stuff from Iceland or Asda but I want to make it all this year.
Mr troo had a sort-out, I've now got some too-big-for-me men's shirts to play with, does anyone know if it's easy to alter them to fit me? I haven't got any patterns or anything but I do have a basic sewing machine so that's a start
N9eav, we had Christopher Biggins turn our Christmas lights on this year, I didn't go and watch, it was too coldBulletproof0 -

Morning Everyone
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINKS I hope you have a good one:bdaycake:
Finally after much dummy spitting out my parcel arrived yesterday I do have a meat parcel due today but I've left them my permission to leave it with my neighbour if I'm not in and after two flaming days forced imprisonment I'm definitely not going to be in:D
I need to nip to Tesco and Asda so I will do Asda before hubby before hubby finishes work at 1pm and Tesco afterwards.Has anyone else noticed the shocking rise in the price of UHT milk at Asda?It was 4 cartons for £2 a couple of weeks ago and is now 72p a carton!!!!!!!!!I'm going to go to Tesco where its cheaper.I also need to nip to Woolies as I have one of the 20% off vouchers so will finish the choccy buying for xmas
On the OS from I've had the washer on twice already and shamefully the dryer once. But its grey and damp outside so cant see line washing drying today.I've dug some sausages out of the freezer so I'll turn them into a sausage casserole later.I suppose I'll be making some teacakes in the remoska later as my lot love them so much they are eating as many as I can produce and they are so soft and scrummy I cant blame them
Mum2g1b- Has your cold cleared yet?Hows little man Ihope he's okay and making your life hell:rotfl:
PP If you're reading this I hope you continue to improve
Stef- I was so sorry to read about your daughters miscarriage yesterday.I've been incredibly lucky and never suffered one but can understand how devastated she must feel

Morning everyone and what a chilly one I went over budget yesterday on my GC but it was in a good cause I managed to get a fair sized turkey crown for my DD to bung in the freezer for £15.00.We only ever eat it on the day so a crown that feeds 8-10 people is just right for us as my DD likes Beef on Boxing day.
I have been scouring the net for a deal for the Isle of Wight ferries for next August and so far no luck. At the moment for 2 cars it will cost us £260.00, more than to go to France !!!.Our house is booked there and that has gone up to £900.00 because of the date in August, the following week its down to £550.00 but the kids have to be back to school halfway through that week.
So more saving and GC challenges ahead I think. Its my Son-in-laws birthday today so I'm off round there tonight .I bought him the Gordon Ramsey cook book as he's keen on cooking and loves to experiment.
Porridge for breakfast for me I think to warm me up and probably a cheese and bacon toastie for lunch. <<hugs to those who need one or just feel a bit blue>>
and HAPPY:bdaycake: BIRTHDAY to Twink. I hope you get lots of goodies
Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing .Only a month to Christmas  Must get a wriggle on with the presents, I still have three birthdays to get before then as well.
Cheers JackieO0 -
Morning all and many happy returns of the day to Twink
I'm having a baking day today. I shall make some rolls, loaves and either muffins or breadcrumb cookies for the kids.
In Delia Smith's new edition of Frugal Food she says she can't see anyone having a baking day these days:rolleyes: what rubbish
I have finished all my Christmas shopping :j :j apart from my Dad (the man who has everything he needs or wants).
I'm going to get our advent calendar out later today to make sure it is in good repair for Sunday. It is a homemade one that I made about 5 years ago out of card and tissue paper -basically little stained glass windows with silhouettes cut in dark blue card. We stand it on the hearth (not a real hearth I hasten to add, just the place where an electric fire should go) and shine a lamp behind it. It does look wonderful.0 -
Mornin
doesnt look too bad out today, at least its dry....probably freezing cold though.....
Off out to do some christmas shopping later at Redditch, bet its heaving, but I cant face Merry Hell  its always VVVVbusy around this time of year, seems worse than in Birmingham city centre.
Made an early start today sorted the freezer out so I have room to get the turkey in (when I get it) and a piece of beef and any other Chrissy things.
MIL always buys the Turkey and my Mum buys the beef, it keeps them happy to be contributing and I am pleased that they want to
Brekkie is porridge with sultanas (when OH has finished having his shower)
Lunch we will have out a carvery probably, no pud though.
Dinner will be something lightish, crusty bread and German smoked ham, and a rice pud with fruit afterwards.
Beth hope all goes well for today x
Happy birthday Twink :bdaycake: enjoy your day x
Off to read the last of yesterdays thread now before OH comes down
