I've now gone over a week without a smoke. I really didn't think I could do it, but I have! I know everyone else that is trying to quit can stop as well. It really makes you feel financially and heathily better.:money: = LEGEND0

Hello everyone!
I've just entered the world of non-smokers. I read alan carrs easy way to stop smoking, its only been 2 days but i haven't even craved a ciggy! Its amazing how that book changes your point of view. I'd been smoking 6 years, about 15-20 a day. And then just !!!!!!, no more, its amazing, and im not even using any NRT.
Before i started alan carrs book, i read paul mckennas i can make you thin. Today so far ive had oatmeal, soup [large soup i must admit] and 1 slice of bread. Paul mckenna really makes you take notice of what your bodies trying to tell you!
I hope to have now a smoke free life! And i hope everyone here suceeds to! Also, if your having trouble with the weight gain then go out and get paul mckenna's i can make you thin. It really does work and makes complete sense, and the best thing is, it isn't a diet. Plus you end up having tonnes of leftovers which also leaves room for saving money on meals

Adios!
Keep it up 2 days = 30 - 40 ciggies you've not had
And well done to everyone whose still going strong - I must be getting there - forgot to put my patch on this morning !!! had a spare one in my purse though which was lucky as was at work when I remembered - gonna start the lowest dose tomorrow - fingers crossed -0 -
Well done, Haushinka - I also read Allan Carr, but although he put the whole subject into a really sensible and informative light, I'm afraid it didn't work for me. Neither did Neil Casey's The Nicotine Trick. Although I have cut down by about a third on my own, I seem to be stuck now, and on more than you started smoking!
The only thing I really enjoyed trying was 'Stop Smoking in One Hour' by Susan Hepburn (yes, I know what you're all thinking!) - BUT - and this may well help people who've stopped but are feeling the pain and cravings, the CD which comes with it is absolutely marvellous. It is so very relaxing and positive in a non-intrusive way about giving up, that I must admit it was a good hour after listening to it that even I had a single thought about a cigarette, and YOU CAN'T IMAGINE how surprising that is!
I am and will persevere in the pursuit of freedom from the weed, but I know that will power and nrt just are not going to work for me - hence all the alternatives tried as above - just gotta keep looking for that one thing which will do the trick for me personally.
I can only repeat the admiration and congratulations that I feel and offer to all of you who are winning the war - keep it up - I'll be with you one day, I know.

^Have you tried using the book more than once. Some of my friends read it the one time and it didn't work for them, maybe a second try? You have nothing to loose. Im reading it for a second time at the moment because i dont want to loose this feeling. Its amazing. And I've never felt so confident.
Also, what about the clinics? They use various methods of hypnosis etc. I mean you've read the book so you have some idea of what they do there. I mean if it doesn't work then they will give you your £200 back! Worth a shot maybe.
Otherwise i wish you the best of luck with your battle.
GOOOD LUCK ALL OF YOU *showers everyone in happy dust"Debt Free - Go Me0 -
Thank you Haushinka - it could be a very good idea to read Allan Carr again, followed by that beautiful hypnotherapy CD - I'll try that!
Ref the clinics, sorry I haven't got £200 to spend, even short term if it doesn't work and I get the money back - could try finding a sugar-daddy but partner would object just a little  !
Will, as said, try your first suggestion, perhaps (hope, really hope) it'll 'gel' this time.0 -
Yeah try it again, and really get into it, but make sure you smoke throughout the book and really follow what it says. By the time i got half way cigarettes where making me wanna puke. IckDebt Free - Go Me0

Hi all, just checking in really. 7 weeks today for me!! Well done everyone else, keep up the good work. Nice to see more and more people joining us! Sez x0

We have all heard of smokers who gave up 2 - 7 years and then started again - not meaning to be negative here - just to say that so long as you keep on trying you will get there. Also now with all this banning smoking everywhere, it is even more of an incentive to keep off them. How unrelaxing to be huddling outside on a blustery freezing day, just to get that nicotine into your system. It does put it into perspective how much of a drug nicotine is. A very powerful drug.
I think with me it eventually clicked that stopping was much easier than all the thinking about and worrying about stopping, the money and health risks, not to mention the stink, cough etc....Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
