I have to do a quick cupboard check and look over my rough meal plan. I am determined that i shall go to Mr. M and spend as near to £40 as i can ( The last 2 weeks i have gone over ! £64 on week 1 and £76 on week 2.) I will remember to take my list AND stick to it this week. Going to treat myself to Mama mia if they have them at £7, i havent seen it yet.

    Today its
Toasted teacakes with rather too much butter.
Potato cakes and beans for me. Everyone else has school lunch or pack up.
Tonight its beef stew cooked yesterday alongside a rubber chicken in the SC ( I have a dual pot one) Left over mash and cabbage. Then something yummy for pud, no idea what yet though.

    afternoon all

Penny-Pincher you will be very much missed on here, i hope all the decent people dont leave

i have seen the effect of bullying first hand as dgs3 was bullied lately at school because he has diabetes, Pixie and dh complained and luckily the school stamped down hard on it maybe because last week was anti bullying week i dont know but letters were sent out to the parents and the perpetrators had to write an apology to dgs3 and hand it over in class

heaven forbid these children would be allowed to grow up feeling they had some sort of superiority to enable them to bully people with illnesses

these people are more to be pitied PP dont let them bother you x

the snow is still lying here and its a cold wind, have been to asda and done dgs3's insulin and after a walk i am making scones and apple cake in the remoska
dinner will be kipper fillets flaked through long grain rice and a tin of ratatoulli thrown in, apple cake for afters

Beth i am glad your db2 has told his eldest dd but what a shock for her

hugs to all who need them xx

twink - how awful for your dgs :(

lots of my patients are bullied because of their appearance or condition and I do everything possible to help them, even giving talks to schoolchildren about the effects bullying has on other children :)

he's obviously got a great family around him and the backing of the school :)

Pen - I have pm'd you. I wish those who have upset you - and Catznine - would just find somewhere else to take their nastiness - the gutter from whence they came would be the best place for them. It goes against the grain of this thread and I am shocked and angry on your behalf. I hope you don't go but understand if you do. I wish you all the very best in life.

Twink - like you, I hope the decent people don't leave - things have been a bit fragile lately.

Sistercas - that link has really made my day, thanks! Even my DH was impressed with the dance so I can show him later - I've put it on my favourites. Thank you so much for posting it!

Well, I have just turned some potato peelings into 'nibbles' by washing and drying them, coating them in olive oil and my Indian chicken seasoning, and baking them for about 30 mins in the oven, and they have turned out really good.

Oh, I must say welcome to all the newbies.

Well,I've just phoned Tesco's and basically they tried to tell me I'd made a mistake so I quoted my order numbers to them with the prices :p:p
Their excuse was the seeds had been on 'special offer' (which they hadn't)..and looking at the price of the 100g packet the 300g was roughly 3x's the price so it wasn't a typo.
So glad I bought tons while they were cheap but yet another reason I'm not going to shop there this week...again!
I've got an Ocado voucher, toying with the idea of using them as I really don't need much and can get a free delivery slot too  They've also pricematched MrT on most of what I do need..decisions..

P-P-What a shame that you feel you have to stop posting on the daily- but I agree you need to avoid stress to recover from your recent op and health issues, not worth posting if it makes you feel worse.Hope to see your posts on another thread and if you feel able to come back in the futureI'm sure you'll be welcome. All the best (((hugs)))

Just having a cuppa after lunch.Housework got off to a late start as after I had walked our dog I then walked a neighbours dog,as she has had an op and can't get out with hers yet and is relying on others .It was nice and bright but cold, and the exercise WILL do me good.

Just had left over pizza from yesterday for my lunch.and tea is lamb steaks.
Tidied the kitchen, and bathroom, put clean washing away, gathered the dirty washing and put leather polish on the suite and given it a good clean, then damp dusted living room. Will make some bread rolls for pack lunches in a bit, then thats it for housework for today apart from cooking!

Have a pleasant rest of the day everyone

Taplady-meant to say-thanks for your jam crumblie recipe, made them on Friday with hm strawberry jam and DH raved about them-he had one with custard on as his pud while they were still warm. Not many left now..

D&DD - Mr T's used to have 2 diff priced packs of sunflower seeds, think the slightly smaller one was the cheaper too! I bought a few packs last week I think, sure they were less than 50p. I use them in my homemade bread, kids like them to snack on! Linseeds have gone up as well, will have to check out Holland and Barrett next time I'm near one!

Will have to give butternut squash and pumpkin seeds a try in my bread, I always scoop out the seeds and throw them in the moski for 5 mins whilst it's cooling down, bit of salt and they're delicious with a nice glass of wine!

Another thing to add to the list of prices that have gone up stupidly, sigh!

Anyone got any tips on diff seeds they use in bread?

Taplady - hope your cold is better soon and you are able to visit Lesley again x

Twink and Moliere - I agree with you both! Whilst I've been trying to catch up on the past few days I started to feel that things were returning to normal, well normal with a bit more os stuff! Hope that everything is sorted out for Penpin quickly and everything settles down here properly!
