Afternoon everyone. Had to take SWMBO to see the neuro-surgeon this morning. Well thats what she said, turns out the appointment is for this for this Thursday, at least we know were to go and the parking is free. Can't let her live that one down for a while. So ended up doing some Christmas shopping instead. Came home & cubed a YS joint of beef up to go in the slow cooker, it worked out cheaper to buy that than the casserole beef, enough for tomorrow night as well.

I'm making a bread & butter pudding later and my shallots should be ready for pickling later this evening. Started putting the hoover round earlier, it got too hot & stopped working so I've taken the chance to log on while it cools down.

PenPin, please don't stop posting. I was surprised to hear that you had been bullied on the OS forum, I thought that sort of thing was reserved for other forums.

Catzine, sorry to hear of your daughter loosing her job. Its not a fun time in the job market at present.

Not long until we see what great plan the Chancellor has for us all. Personally I can't see dropping the VAT doing much for peoples spending, £2.50 saved for every £100 spent will not make me rush out & buy more. The thought of it did stop us from buying our sons Christmas present today, we will wait until its been announced & then benefit by having the little extra money in our account.

    Afternoon all.

I'm a little out of touch, as I haven't been on here since last Thursday; Mr LW had Friday off, as 1) I had a GP appointment so needed the car and 2) we had tickets for the opera Friday evening, and needed to be at the theatre early (even so, we had trouble finding a disabled parking space). And of course I hardly ever get online at weekends.

I'm giving up on meal plans. It's causing me more stress than enough, and we've discussed it, and don't feel that it really fits our lifestyle. But I've given it a go; never let it be said that I rejected the idea without trying it.:o

I'll either do nut loaf sweet'n'sour OR pasta and cheese sauce tonight. I'll decide which later.

Bought a couple of inexpensive plant mist-sprays on Saturday, for the purpose of putting ready-diluted Stardrops, one bottle in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, as I think it'll make life easier to just spray'n'wipe. Anything that makes [STRIKE]life[/STRIKE] housework easier has to be a good thing.:p
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Well, I'm on my third load of washing, my breadmaker's on...

I'm not getting on with things :o

So right after the news about the taxes I am going to go and put on some home made soup (bacon bits and whatever veggies I can find) and then do the ironing. Honest.

Little bear is getting too spoilt. I gave him a pear, chopped up. He liked that and demanded another one. As I am in daily terror of the poor child starving to death I gave him another pear (they were only small, the Sainsburys basics range). When, however, he continued to demand pear after that one I decided that it was greed. He had already had two pieces of toast with cream cheese and a lot of juice. He was not happy, but recovered very quickly when tickled.

  • hi, i'm sorry to hear everyone's not so good news. i've not long joined up and i had no idea that there was any bullying going on. it's sad that people have nothing better to do with their lives than make others feel miserable!
try to remember, "People who mind don't matter, people who matter don't mind". don't let these people get to you. show them that their opinions etc mean nothing. i'm sure there are lots of really nice people on here who make up for the few nasty ones.

  • Can't say I've seen any bullying going on but I would say that people should realise its an internet forum and people should take a lot of what is said with a large pinch of OS salt!

You see I could tell you I'm busy making bread but I'm not....

I got Mamma Mia dvd today and am dancing round the room singing loudly with not a OS thought in my mind :j

    Mind, I never do :D

  • Dearie, dearie me.

Not done anything since I last posted. Darling father will be here soon and I haven't done anything and the place is worse than anything.

And now little bear is getting a bit grumbly so it is play time and probably snack time and I still haven't done anything.

Dear heart usually prefers me to spend time with him of a evening (which is marvellously flattering) but won't get things done then.

Bethebee would have redecorated the entire house by now (I am so much in awe of you Beth).

Well, I cannot claw back the time so I am definitely going to sign off and then go and get little bear and then just get on with things.

    Honest.
