  • Good morning :santa2:

Its really cold with icy rain in Surrey - Brrrr!!! I've just been out to the car, and it says I have 79 miles left in the tank, so I'll use it to take DS to nursery as both he and DD have really bad coughs.

I had home made Oat Bread for breakfast with Jam, as did DS - not for DD unfortunately as its a bit to 'hard'.

Dinner tonight was due to be HM burgers but there was enough chicken left over from yesterdays roast to do a curry, so that's another meal banked :D

No money to speak of until Friday, but have meal planned for the week, so today will be spent going through the cupboards so I can cut down on next weeks spend so I can get some Christmas extras and I might whip up a batch of scones...did chocolate flapjacks last night, so will also slip one of those into the day with a cup of tea!

    Have a good'un x

    Mornng Everyone

Its just about come light here and it has the makings of a dry, bright if a little chilly day

Waiting in for the flaming parcel I missed delivery of on Friday to arrive so will be cleaning and cooking all day.Plus I want to do something crafty with YS so that I can start making my Christmas cards whilst he sticks and cuts.

I've dug some leftover roast beef out of the freezer so I'll make that into a stew later with some dumplings.Jam Roly for pud with custard of course

Hope everyone is feeling better this morning that has been poorly over the weekend

    Morning all,
I've been looking after DF's house whilst they are in France, we stay there with them every year, well the builders have been putting a new bathroom in and replastering the kitchen ceiling. It's supposed to be finished in time for their return today. I went in to check the house y/day afternoon. There is a huge hole in the bathroom wall, the wind and rain are coming straight through the floor hasn't been finished, more holes and no loo.
The kitchen/diner is covered in old plasterboard and it hasn't been re plastered. The whole house is covered in a layer of dust. They didn't think to close doors to other rooms.

I'm going there today armed with stardrops, vinegar etc. and try to make the place livable. I'll make a Cauli, Broc and leek cheesey bake and french bread for their supper, also pen them a letter to invite them to come and stay here until Armagedon is over.

All that has to be fitted inbetween a 1pm Hosp app. I have to deceide when to have my left arm/hand opperated on. I don't want the opp before xmas as there's to much to do. My right one took 2 mths to heal. If I have it done in the New Year it might not be healed in time for our 28day China, Japan and S. Korea cruise on 28th Jan. That takes us up to 26th Feb then DD2 has her 1st baby on March 12th. so I can't have it then as I must be able to snuggle the baby. Looks like it's gonna be Summer.

DB2 phoned last night to say he has at last told his eldest DD that he has Melanoma, and asked me to speak to her as she was in a state. I phoned here to try to alleviate her fears, We spoke for 45mns. I hope I left her feeling better, she is 4 mths pregnant with her 1st.

Must pop out for ingredients for friends dinner, think I'll cook us the same.
then collect a 7ft melamine shelf from a Freecycler at 10.30 and ask DH to put it up in DD2's utility.

Hope it's a kind day for all.

SMOKY gentle (((((((((((hugs))))))))) also JACKI O, PENPIN and any needing one.

CANDY GIRL, Haven't heard from you for a while, hope you and DD are OK.
  • Morning Chums ,by but its a bit brisk this morning.Have to go to DDs today to sort out next years hols. The week we wanted is o.k. but she thinks the children go back to school on the thursday or friday of that week so if we book a week earlier the price leaps from £550.00 a week to £900.00.So it will be decision time this morning . it is a four bedroomed place at Chale on the Isle of Wight that will sleep 8 of us but that £350.00 is quite a chunk.
College tonight and I have got some HM soup out to take in my flask to keep me warm as it gets a bit nippy at times in class. <<hugs to those in need>>. and keep wrapped up warm the rest of you.
    Cheers JackieO

    Morning All :D
I just wanted to say first a HUGE thankyou to you all for your support and lovely messages on Friday I can't thankyou all enough as it helped me get through a truly awful day :A You are all angels, and Sybil I'll definately be writing too :D Thankyou for your reply when you were not feeling your best either :A

On an OS note the house is like an absolute pigsty :rotfl: It was such a busy week I didn't do a thing indoors and it shows!!!
So,first got to prise myself away from catching up on here and do some serious cleaning..
Got a roast dinner today, noone fancied it yesterday so we had Pizza (HM) instead :o:o
Tesco's are in my bad books again  I've been stocking up on Sunflower seeds they've been selling at 44p for aaages (I stick a few into the bread) and when I looked this week they are.....£2.96p a packet
I've not done a shop with them for a month now and plan to abstain from using them until their prices are fairer.
I did go to Asda and get 2 huge 90 wash boxes of Daz the other day and picked up a few other bargains so I plan to just flit between the other supermarkets for a while now instead.

Hope everyone has a great day and sending all those who are in need today huge hugs

    Morning peeps
i`m not fully caught up on the last couple of days yet but i hope to catch up with the bits that i`ve missed later, it`s been a busy weekend and i`ve worked straight through without any time off so i`m looking forward to mid week when i can stop chasing my tail.

I need to do some cooking to keep up with my meal planner and Mr Sunny is off today so he has gone to the supermarket - with a strict list to keep to

I`m going to scrub some potatoes as we will be having cheesy jacket potatoes and beans for dinner later but i shall be at w*rk so i need to cook them early to heat up later. I`ve been trying to ring the mail office since it opened at 8am but it is constantly engaged. I need to get a parcel redelivered as since the post has started arriving in the afternoon rather than the morning i`m never in to take any larger items.

I`ll keep on trying with the parcel and im the meantime i shall go and empty the dw and bm and bottle some wine - oh and drink several cups of tea :D

D&DD - That is some price increase  i`ve stopped buying a lot of things because of daft rises like this.

Catch up later guys, have a good day.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Morning folks,

Tired Mum - Hope your DD feels better soon

D&DD - Woah, that is quite a hike in price. I hate Tesco

RedRuby - Have an easy day and hope you feel better soon. The cold and damp makes my chest bad too.

Betheebee - Your poor friends. That is so nice of you to go and tidy up for them, and to offer them a place to stay at your house.

Well, just had breakfast and am off to work in a minute, until 8. I had the beef stroganoff last night and....it was really tasty, but I think I might have overcooked it - I could not tell the difference between the butcher beef and supermarket beef, and it wasn't really all that tender (although it was just after I started cooking it). Anyway, I have enough left over to make a steak sandwich out of, so have put that in the freezer ready for another day.

    Breakfast: Weetabix with hot milk
Lunch: Cheese sandwich, yoghurt, banana bread
Dinner: Mushroom and spinach penne (guess what I am trying to use up)

    Have a good one

Morning all, its freezing here too today and really windy. Didn't get chance to post yesterday, busy cooking dinner and more of twinks hobnobs for the lunchboxes this week. DH busy doing some much needed work in the extension yesterday so thats coming along nicely.
All off to work and school now so after some cleaning must work on the meal plan, had it all sorted but have some mince and mash over from yesterday so thats a meal for the kids tonight. Hubby has a test to do on his van which is going up for sale, so we will have to manage with one vehicle for a while. Sounds ok but when you live 7 miles from the village it will be a pain with the getting kids to school bus etc. At least I will be fit and the dog will be happy:rotfl: Hugs to all and have a good day,
