Mobile Outlet's Terms and Conditions for cashback have changed since I got my phone last August. Does anyone have a copy of last year's Terms that they could email me?

The sneaky bit is they want your 11th bill within 21 days for no reason as they pay you second half of rental when you send in bill 12 (again within 21 days).

Aargh! I didn't read that properly, and thought I only had to send in bill 11 and bill 12 TOGETHER. I've just had bill 12, and it seems that I am too late to send in bill 11 now. I got my phone in August 2005, and maybe the temrs and conditions were different then? Maybe I can just send them both in now? Anyone know??

I have been in a dispute with them for some time. I wouldn't go there again. Refusal to answer emails. No answer to letter to complaints department. Very rude to me when i talked to someone - kept interrupting me.

i am sure there are people with good experiences, but there are better companies around...

I've just received my phone from them today which I ordered on Friday. All I've been sent is the phone (and charger etc), but no paperwork. The sim card was in an envelope with a photocopied piece of paper thanking my for my custom and stating that the terms and conditions are on the back which they are not (someone obviously didn't manage to do that bit). There is no "official" looking despatch note which I note in the terms and conditions on their website are a requirement for claiming cashback. I have emailed both customer services and cashback department just and have already received an automated reply from the customer services email saying that my message may be delayed by a technical difficulty. I note that in their order tracking section on the website it states that I am still being credit checked and I was supposed to receive an email to say that the phone had been despatched but I never did.
I'm worried. Should I just get a returns number and send the thing back? I also can't find a geographical phone number for them. grrrrrr

I also had no despatch note with the phone when it was delivered on 5.7.06.

I have complained about the failure to send me details of the tariff and the only response was to say they will send a copy of the dispatch note to me.

I have asked for confirmation today that they will not apply that condition, given that the package contained only what is now described by the cashback team as a welcome letter.

I'll post their reply when I get it

Thanks for the response, Patricia1066. I will look out for your reply and I will also post here how I get on with it.
I am determined that they will not get away with this if it is a ploy to refuse cashback!

I rang them today and was told that I will get a dispatch note which she will print out and send tonight. I asked how will this affect the condition that an original dispatch note is required. I was told that it will be exactly the same as should have been sent with the phone.

    We'll see!

I've received the despatch note today after calling the customer services yesterday. (I was only holding on for about 6 mins so didn't think that was too bad). I still have no tarrif information though and have no idea what the number of my new mobile is! I'm hoping that O2 will be able to furnish me with that information. At least the despatch note has the details of the cashback terms and conditions on the back. I'm now going to lock it in a fireproof box!
  • Hi Bollards

there is endless potential confusion created by the phrase despatch note. I had only one communication that arrived in the parcel, a letter that had the terms and conditions on the back. I sent a few emails to discover the the terms did not apply as they were out of date, and according to the cashback rep, it was not a despatch note!

It was a welcome letter, and apparently not the same thing at all.

Fortunately today I have had a reply that places the position quite clearly so that I can satisfy the condition

    //Hi Patricia,

To resolve any such query – we will dispatch another dispatch note to you which will be accepted when you make your first claim.

    Kind Regards,

    Cash Back Team//

I am enjoying the game so far, and feel it is testing my forensic skills.

I am contemplating going for one of these deals (possibly more and putting them on ebay??) and seek a simple answer from those who have had past experience: to deal or not to deal?

    Thanks
