QUOTE: after u have sent ur bills to MO...
did u actually send them email and ask them whether they have received ur chashback request?
    or
did MO send u an email and inform u that they have received ur cashback request automaically?

Sorry - slow to answer Iv'e been away......

I actually e-mailed them about a week after I sent the bills by recorded delivery. When I sent the claim I asked them to confirm that they were in receipt but I didn't want the claim period to elapse so I e-mailed their cash back team and they e-mailed back within 24 hours.

No gregory turned up just yet though !!!!! will keep you posted shekshek.

Having been with dialaphone and OSPS a year each. I ordered a 6630 on 10 months free a month or so ago which I thought was a fantastic deal. However I started to get suspicious when my parcel arrived with no confirmation of the contract. I immediately phoned them to get confirmation but couldn't get through even after waiting 45mins! After numerous calls to their 0870 no (totalling 2hrs) I thought I'd email them to cancel my contract. However there was no reply. 6 days later someone called/email me I called them back at 5:23pm just before they closed and was relieved to get to speak to someone (my prayers had been answered). By this time I thought I was had! but I managed to negotiate and to my suprise he gave a returns auth no. but only after my explanation of failed attempts to get in contact (backed up by email - for smalls claim court). I was very close to my 7days lock-in period but to no fault of mine since I called them from day 2 of receiving phone. Bottom line is if they can't respond to simple emails or if you have to wait hours in a call que how can you expect them to send cashbacks.

    thx Christy~
have u got ur cashback yet?
  • I've had 3 phones off them so far and had no problems. Cashback on the first 2 no problem, final installment on the third one is pending.

Tip: they are slow in responding to emails and the phone queue is long. Write to them by snail mail and you get a reply within 7-10 days (and the stamp is cheaper than waiting in the queue on the phone)

I am fighting with them; I have just had my first cashback claim rejected (thus invalidating the second one too! because I sent a copy of my first bill... the first bill never arrived from 3 (lost in post) so they resent the bill...it looked the same as my other 3 bills (colour print etc) but it had a red 'copy' stamp on the first page. If I had photocopied it, that would be one thing, but this was completely outwith my control. I'm sure that if you adhere to their terms and conditions to the letter they would be ok.

The customer service is hard to get through to - takes between 30mins and 1hr each time on the phone - it doesn't matter if you press ' 1' to order, or '2' for customer services ;) but they do reply to emails within a few days.

I will keep you posted on the outcome - does anyone with some legal knowledge (Scottish legal system pls) know if I have a leg to stand on for complaining - both to MobileOutlet and small claims?

  • Have just received my Nokia 6280 today, ordered on Saturday on line, so not bad considering bank holiday in between.

Not received a contract as such, printed sheet with T&C stating the cash back must be submitted in writing after 6 and 12 months. Will wait and see on this one.

By the way - is there an easy way to transfer all music and photos etc from my Samsung D500 to my new phone before I port the number? Tedious job sending each one individually.

Has anyone had any dealings with The Mobile Outlet when it comes to claiming cashback?

I'm due to claim soon, and was wondering if anyone could share their experience with them.

    Thanks in advance!
