Well credit where credits due, i sent my first cashback last week and included a copy of the terms and conditons sent with the phone regarding the bills required.

Today i;ve received two emails from them, the first stating they've received my cashback claim and a second to say that my cashback claim had been accepted and i could expect a bacs payment within 28 days.:j
    Well done:T

They received my first half year claim on 1 November and since then I have heard nothing.

I've emailed the email addy on here three times and not had an automatic response (from two different email addresses) wondering if they still operate the auto response?

    Hi

Sorry to seem naiave but can anyone tell me what's going on?!

I have submitted a claim for first refund on 2 mobile phones at the beginning of November. Telephoned to check they had been received and was told the first one (2nd Nov) was currently being dealt with (didn't mention the 6th).

My contract says should receive refund within 45 days so still time.

However, having just come across this thread, I tried to ring them and just keeps ringing then eventually, message stating no-one there to take the call.

Are they in financial difficulty and just keeping you holding on making money from the phone calls?

    Thanks

SORRY - Am I getting the 2 companies mixed up?

My contract is with Themobs.com - The mobile solution.

Are they the same company as the mobile outlet?

    Regards

    Hi,

The Mobs are a different company and have no links to The Mobile Outlet.

I received an email from TMO today confirming that my first application, for my second phone, had been successful and that I would receive my cashback within 28 days. It's very reassuring to receive this confirmation email, thanks TMO.

    to tmo,

The first cashback installment is 9 MONTHS according to my term terms & conditions and i sent my documents on time. I had given you a call earlier in the year and you said to follow the cashback claim exactly how the particular terms and conditions i recieved, and that was to claim after 9 months and then the 12th month. You said not to go by any new terms and conditions, just follow the one i got with my purchase and that is what i have done.
Now i have been told by you that i need to send a copy of my terms and conditions for proof. I will do that, but i want to know why, im sure you have the t&c records at the date of my purchase? I think this a trick to mislead customers.
Once i send them how long will you take to return my money!?

    Hi,

If you forward your order reference number to forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk we will be able to ensure your cashback cheque is raised promptly. We would expect to have payment with you within 7 days from receipt of documentation under these circumstances. If you email the above address once the paperwork has been posted, we will try and deal with the issue and generate a payment within a couple of days.

Riza, first off I am in no way connected with TMO apart from being a customer.

In TMO's defence, they do say that they have had problems with the wrong T&C's going out as they have used another company to dispatch the goods and there appears to have been a miscommunication somewhere; hence probably why they have asked to see what you have.

I've received a response from TMO via their forum queries email and it is for the good (confirmation will be made when the money is deposited :)) so hats off to them. No mention as to why there was a delay though.

I'm also impressed with the integrity in which they have conducted themselves in this forum. In the past I have seen companies retaliate at comments made which has shown badly on them; to their credit TMO have avoided anything like this.

On the subject of misleading customers; this is an interesting one.

If everyone only bought cashback phones and managed to get their cashback then it is unlikely the company would survive long, the business model will be one of factoring in that some will claim correctly, some will forget (like my sister!) and some may not do it properly and can be rejected.

It is the last point that is the interesting bit. How hard do you make claiming, how stringently do you apply the rules, etc? Personally I don't want it to be too easy as then the cashback system would cease, but similarly making it too hard risks me not getting my funds back; I'm not able to justify things either way.

I have just posted my first four bills and despatch notes to the Mobile Outlet/Mobile Matters UK by first class recorded delivery. My first bill was issued on 12th August 2006. So 21 days on the fourth bill will be 3rd December 2006. I am really worried about them denying the claim.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Please suggest when should I get in touch with them to enquire about the claim or when will they get back to me.

    Thanks.
    Hi,

Please email your order information to forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk and we will be able to confirm receipt of your bills and when your application/payment will be processed.

    Hi The Mobile Outlet,

I emailed my order information to forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk on Friday and no response has been sent yet. How long do I need to wait for the reply?

I adhered to the terms and my cashback was still rejected; maybe they display integrity here as it's publicly viewable. My situation: I was to send in the first 6 months bills within 21 days of the date on the 6th bill (despite the actual date of receiving the 6th bill being outside my control) ; this I did, my only mistake being not to send by recorded delivery (I have previously had a contract with another company and had no problem so didn't anticipate any shenanigans) - they say my bills arrived 3 days outside the time limit - my assertion was that the terms state that they should be sent within the timescale (ie not necessarily received by them) - despite all this they still refused my cashback, hence my moneyclaimonline for which I have received judgement (but no money). I think they are rather selective in their displays of integrity, I have had no communication here as a result of my posts.

    Hi,

We appreciate the comments you have made and if you have proof of postage we would be more than happy to look into your application again. We have always advocated on this forum that customers should send their cash back applications by Special Delivery, as this is the only method which guarantees next day delivery. If you feel the Forum Query Team has not dealt with your application or query efficiently enough, please PM a convenient contact number. This will result in your application being escalated and result in a call back from one of our managers.
