Hmm, their participation in this and another forum had given me some faith in them, but reading these recent comments, I think I'll be steering clear (was considering w810i/virgin30/10 months free).

There is a new company (allegedly another CPW trading name), something like the phone spot (saw them on quidco) & saw in the paper that they will consider price matches - hope this helps others.
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!
  • Guess what? I too have heard nothing from them at all.
  • Just thought I'd post on here to say that I have received two emails today confirming that my application for cashback has been received and accepted, and that payment will be made within 28 days. This was my first claim for cashback for which I had to send the first four bills and despatch note.
I am looking forward to receiving my payment and will post on here when it arrives.
  • The continuing saga.
Got a private message last weekend from forumqueries asking for contact number. I supplied this and waited all week - no call.

Messaged back about this on Friday night and get a message back late last night saying their records showed they tried to call on Friday. (My mobile however shows no missed calls). The message also says they will call me this morning.

Yup you guessed it!! No phone call AGAIN!

I've already registered with moneyclaim online, which by the way is a Government Crown Court official site, check it out, and I'm going to PM forumqueries one last time to let them know if I don't get a satisfactory response by the end of this week, I'm taking them to court.

Will keep you all posted. Oh and also I figured out why they respond quicker to some rather than others - my contract with them is finished - my issue is with my second claim, so I guess they need to keep first claimers sweet and they just hope I'll give up, as I'm sure many people do coz this has to be one of the most frustrating experiences anyone can have!.
  • Hi, I have been with MO for just over 9 months, on a mobile with "Three".
I had to get bills 1-9 to them by 25/11/2006 (21 days from 04/11/2006 date of the 9th bill).
I sent in bills 1-9 (not including the first line rental in advance one) recorded delivery 15/11/2006, with dispatch note enclosed, as requested.

On the 22/11/2006 I had a letter come through the post stating that they were in too late & that I would not receive any refund on line rental.
It stated “Our Fulfilment Team have received your bills, however they were received over the 21 day timescale specified in our terms and conditions, which were accepted by you on the completion of your mobile application”

When I rang up, I was told that I had not sent in all the bills, as I had missed the first one, & this was the reason for no refund on line rental. I counted the very first one as not a bill, because it was line rental in advance. They said it is the first 12 that count, starting from the line rental in advance, not including the very last call charges bill. There are 13 in total, but it seems strange they need to see only 12, that is 1-9 then 10-12. Also, without seeing the last bill, they do not know if you complete the full 12 months on the contract & that does not make sense, when they are meant to be refunding 12 months line rental.

I stand to lose £367.50 if they do not pay up. They are not very polite on the phone either.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone else know exactly what bills should be sent in out of the 13.

I also have a second contract with them & that one came with a couple of photo copied papers as a Dispatch Note. I am worried about this contract as well.

I sent off mine and OH first 6 month cashback claims a week ago. I enclosed the original bills and a copy of T&C with a covering letter for each.

I have now recieved two emails, firstly acknowledging receipt of of claim and second to advise it had been approved and cheque should be with me in 28 days. :T

The £360 will go some way towards paying for my new computer.:)

  • Poppy9 - don't get excited too soon. I also got the email saying my claim had been successful and I'd get a cheque within 28 days --- guess what, that was over 28 days ago and no cheque has arrived yet.

I've asked them for an update, and I'll let you know what happens.

    Ok excitement gone!!

Did anyone see Watchdog tonight. They had an item on THEMOBS. They gone into Vol. Liquidation so no cashback for anyone there. An ex member of staff was saying how she was told to lie to customers.

  • Hi,

We have upgraded our cash back system to allow for speedier processing of all cash back claims. The benefit of this system which poppy9 has already experienced, includes an email to confirm the receipt of your claim and another email detailing the result once it has been processed. These updates should be recevied by customers within 7-10 days from the date your claim was received by The Mobile Outlet. Payments will continue to be paid within 28 days of receipt. This system has been designed in mind to ensure customers are kept upto date with the progress of their cash back claims - an area where members of this forum have suggested needed some imporvement.

We will be moving to a BACS system for processing all cash back payments. BACS payments are being used at the minute but only for a small proportion of cash back claims. This system will be used to process all cash back claims by around mid Feb 2007. Further updates will be released closer to the time.

Sunnyjim, if you can PM your order details - we will provide an update for you regarding your payment.

    Regards
    Forum Query Team
  • I keep seeing lots of promises from the Forum Team to sort problems out, but I emailed them on Sunday morning as a direct result of an entry I made, and their offer to sort out my problems.....but guess what, no reply from them yet!

I dont know why I am suprised, but I remain disappointed at the number of hurdles this company is making me jump over to get my cashback. However, the law is on my side, so we will get there eventually - I have a claim in process with Moneyclaim online, that defaults to me next week if they dont pay up.

My advice based on my experiences of MO .... they are cheap for a reason....use someone like onestopphoneshop or e2 save, who I have used in the past with total success (and whom I sincerely wish I was currently using!)
