x
I made cauli and leek cheese on friday and i had enough to make 2 large dishes we had one on friday and the other is in the fridge for tomorrow i wanted to freeze it . it is in a pyrex dish is that suitable for the freezer? what dishes do you use for freezer to oven?0 -
A bit more snow here and light showers since I got up (9am!!).
I think| i wrote on the daily yesterday about Rainbow having offers on frozen turkeys - half price - for those looking for turkey lurkey deals.
Enjoyed Strictly last night but I switched it off when John came back for his dance as I am beginning to get a bit annoyed with him. I voted for Jodie. First time I've voted, though I watch every week. She tries so hard and was v good I thought, but may need 'saving'!! I think she'll go anyway though.
I have some bits to hand wash today and also ironing of w*rk clothes for the week but apart from that I'm going to have a fairly quiet day. I might iron a few table cloths as well though from my stash. I washed them all a while back and they have been in the ironing pile since, with only one or 2 being down very occasionally!
I do need to give the bathroom a Stardrops and vinegar clean and the kitchen windowsill needs de-cluttering. I finally threw out the last of my salad leaves. I've had a pot of them on the windowsill and it has been lovely to just pick what I want. I'll defintely do that again next year.
Went back with some library books yesterday but didn't have time to stop for any more so I might have a look in there today if I venture out. I'll have to give young dog a good walk today and a more sedate walk for the older one.
oooh - snow is coming down thick and fast and sky looks all full of it. Hope no-one is affected by the snow and driving today.
Keep cosy all

morning :hello:
didn't have a very productive afternoon yesterday after my busy morning, headache became a migraine and I took some painkillers and went to bed at 2pm and stayed there dozing until 5pm, it did help though
while I was in bed DD and DS cleaned kitchen and put WM and DW on :T and DD made the Moussaka ready to go in the oven, I love my kidsxx
DD enjoyed first day at new sat job, it's a small coffee shop and she's waiting on tables, hours will be 10 - 4 from next week so pretty civilised
no snow here but every once in a while we have hailstones, DS is spending the day at school to rehearse his play and he cycled in at 9am, he's 15 but I still worry about him on the roads! got a txt when he arrived that said 'safe x'
decided I won't be able to get denim dungarees for his play but told him to ask teacher would it look ok if I make some denim braces for a pair of jeans
dinner today is pork, OH won't be home until 7pm so I'll aim to have it ready for then, DD and I will have bacon sarnies for lunch
I really need to get that ironing done today, will check what's on TV to watch while I do it, I like watching UK style etc when ironing
OH is working nights xmas day so we're having our dinner on boxing day, we usually have a turkey crown and a piece of beef, I like doing 2 meats as the leftovers keep us going for days
MSD - I've seen some bad reviews about those kettles, that they stop heating the water as well after a few months

Hello all - it is lovely and white here in Suffolk. I got up at 7 to put the slow cooker on, make an apple crumble and just keep warm for now - the children want to go out in the snow later!! (I LOVE snow!)
Haven't got much planned for today - although all of my ebay items have been bid on and finish tonight, so i may as well wrap them up ready to post.

Morning folks,
Got to pop out in a minute to get electric. I am so jealous of you who have snow, I just have a raging gale.
Just discovered the waste pipe has come away from my kitchen sink so everything under there is covered in sewer slime . Will have a proper look when I get back, hope its just a screw on job otherwise will have to get my landlord over with some silicone.
Bought some Yankee car gels yesterday (as recommended on here) and put one in the bathroom. MMMMMMM
Other plans for today - Ebay listings, Weetabix brownies, got to do something with all the apples I still have and general tidying up. Did all the ironing yesterday
THANKYOU so much Pen-Pin for that phone number - I rang them, got loud and they replied to my email 15 minutes after putting the phone down. Turns out my stupid ex has payed his fees out of my PayPal
I think Amazon have put their fess up - I have a few CDs on there for 1p, went to relist them today and after Amazon have taken all their fees etc out, I would only get 11p after the sale! (to include postage as well). So, will put them in the charity bin next time I go by.
Have a good one
Edit: Forgot to mention earlier that I went to the butcher yesterday and bought some rump steak (£13.40/kg). I will make a beef and mushroom stroganoff with it tonight , with rice. If it is nice, I was going to order a months whorth of meat from the butcher at the beginning of every month. Hopefully this will help my meal planning/budgeting etc.
Oh, and Co-Op have Nouvelle on BOGOF (£2.35/4 pack). I just got a whoopsied mozzarella for 29p as well, more food I have no plans for :rolleyes:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hi,
Just popping by to let Smoky know that I'm thinking of you and think in MHO that you will be doing the right thing by getting outside help for DS.

Morning all! (or rather afternoon!)
Lots of OS cooking going on here today - the Xmas pud is in for its mammoth steaming session - I know it's a week early but we are away next weekend so it was this weekend or never! Last year's was so successful that I'm doing a rematch this year:rotfl:
Have to make bread as well and a batch of curry paste - we'll have curry for tea tonight and some nice sweetcorn chowder for lunch but until then we are tucked up on the sofa with a blanket and a hot water bottle - I'm not putting on the heating during the day if I can get away with it!
Hugs to anyone that needs them.0 -

Have you thought of selling them with musicmagpie? If they accept your CD's you won't even have to pay postage. I got £1.75 for a Dolly Parton Christmas CD....how it ever got up into my loft I'll never know-but i earned from it!!
Lunch was lovely; candles on the table, snow falling outside - and i even had time to make a batch of vanilla biscuits.

my breadmaker has a 'dough basic' setting which does everything but bake it. it beeps when its finished and I just whack it into a loaf tin wait for it to rise and stick it in the oven
maybe yours has a similar option?
if not that setting takes approx 1 and a half hrs maybe you could take it out after then?
HI THE SISCAS,,my BM does have a dough setting but didnt realise that is what i should use thank you very much ..will do that next time ,,btw the bread is gorgeous and big ,,it hit the top of the BM and we thought it was going to open it but no ,,,only thing it had was a cold spot on top
see you later
