    Morning all

I've finished logman's bathroom, it was a doddle, a bit of filling and sanding, 1 coat white emulsion on ceiling, 2 coats on top half of walls (bottom half was tiled) Satinwood 2 doors and frames, skirting boards and 1 shelf. I was home and had brushes, rollers cleaned and packed away by 6pm. Can't wait for my wages, A load of logs.
Was just about to prep dinner when DH said he's organised a chinese takeaway, so enjoyed that with several glasses of wine.

Doing DH a full roast beef, YS, dinner and I fancy some smoked mackeral YS ofcourse. We were going to go to his late Mum's house to clear the last of her stuff but DH's bro is not well, self inflicted me thinks as he sent a text at 2.30am.

Plan to get DH to get boxes down from loft so I can list what xmas stuff I have bought.

SMOKY, My DB2 and SiL took in his BF's 2 children when his BF and wife were killed in a TA, the kids were in the car when it happened. The daughter aged 5 was very disturbed and a handfull to cope with for years, she had to have counselling on a regular basis, it did help, she was a very angry little girl and did similar to your DS. It does seem that your DS maybe trying to punish you for not being able to stop the loss of Eric.
I do hope you can get help in anyway possible. I, like many others here, think and pray that life can get easier for you as time goes on. God Bless you and yours x
  • Hi everyone:hello:

not been on for a while as we have had my mum staying this week, she went home yesterday.
I am really poorly with gastric flu and a chest infection:o so mum was looking after ds a lot for me so I could rest, OH working lots of overtime last week so was hardly here.
am going to have to be off work next week which doesn`t go down well with the managers in the good old NHS but sometimes it can`t be helped.

Have been up already and BM is on and a joint of brisket in SC for later.

have skimmed through the dailys for last few days.....D&DD sorry to hear about your FIL, hope all is ok...
Smoky sorry to hear you are having such a bad time, i used to nurse in a hospice and the bereavement counsellors there did wonders with children who had lost someone special so maybe that is the avenue to go down..you are doing so well though and should be proud of yourself but also give yourself the time to grieve...be gentle with your own sadness.
hugs to all others who need them.

I can`t find any turkey bargains anywhere either:rolleyes: ......whats everyone else having for xmas dinner?

    love claire

    Morning all,

Smoky, its nice to see you posting, I was getting worried too, I am so sorry to hear that you are having a rough time at the moment, it does sound like your ds needs some extra help, how old is he ? perhaps he thinks he has to be the head of the house now, and is struggling to cope  , anyway hugs to you all, wish I could do more to help you all xx

No snow here, just drizzle as usual  , I so wanted some snow, but dont think we will get it now. Not too much on today, need to nip up to MrT, to get a new book, and have a look at the wrapping paper, I really want plain white, but cant seem to get it.

I have got a leg of lamb for lunch, will get todays meal from it and a tagene for during the week. Will do roasties, and lots of veg today.

Other than that and a quick tidy, I think I will have a quiet day on the sofa :j , no washing to do, and I don't do ironing :D .

Diva thanks for the soup recipe, I shall try it and report back xx

Halight, I do have an elderly neighbour, who I pop in to quite often, I often take him a cake or a dinner round, he must be in his 80's, and is very busy, he says to me ' cant stop got to get the shopping in for my old dears' :T , he is great and always gives me advice on my garden.

Hello to suzybloo, its nice here :D

Mags50, welcome back, and its nice to be your friend on FB x

Anyhoo have good days all and keep warm, xx

    Morning :D

Well this is an early shock for me :o Sunday morning :rotfl: I thought they were for lie ins and not a lot else :D

Well I deliberated and deliberated yesterday over 3 cars..............it took me a while, Dad nearly left me :rotfl: 1 garage had a blue one........with a very pale cream interior ..........noooooooooooooooooo.........not with my lads and bearded puppy:eek: (5 in Jan) then there was a red megane 41k miles.......

But I went for the silver megane and shall have it in a week......the dealer said he would pay the measly £10 car tax if I wanted it and it clinched the deal! So I'm a happy panda now and I think so will my parents after they get their car back:T

In other matters, the soup went well, so well infact after I had been out for most of the day there was a pile of empty soup bowls next to the slowcooker:confused:;).

I did my charrrreeety bit last night and had the best night out doing fun casinos I've had in a long time :T
It was a 21st...............and a free bar :T woooooooooohoooooooooo, the food was delish and we (as 'staff') were treated superbly by the hosts, which is unusual as sometimes we are treated as the hired help and not volunteers. The birthday girl and all her 120 guests were great fun.

My elder son booked the box office to watch the fight on at 4am last night and I asked him to wake me up to see it.................well I woke him up at round 7:rotfl:

not to give the 'score' away.............

Well thats my news:rotfl:a lazyish day for me here, a lot of chasing the boys to do a few jobs, moving of cars and I have to do my Mums super duper Christmas shop on line this afternoon.

    Love to all,
    Panda xx

    :Tg :jo:Dn ;)e:Dn;)o:jw :T

    missing kipper No 2.....

    Good morning all
Its been snowing a bit here in Essex but not too much and now we have rain:mad: Dogs have been walked and elderly neighbours checked on. Mum isnt coming for lunch today as she doesnt want to drive added to the fact DD1 keeps being sick and feels so tired she can hardly stand up as well as having JOOKs:eek: (nits) she must have picked them up from cubs where she is a young leader as they dont usually get them at seniors DD2,DS and OH are fine but i have managed to get them as well:mad: so a great night was spent in the bathroom with a bottle of conditoner and a nit comb.

ps I am sure there is a bread thread but I cant find it anywhere

my breadmaker has a 'dough basic' setting which does everything but bake it. it beeps when its finished and I just whack it into a loaf tin wait for it to rise and stick it in the oven :D
maybe yours has a similar option?
if not that setting takes approx 1 and a half hrs maybe you could take it out after then?

    Morning all!

No snow here, was raining earlier but sunny now.

Twink - thanks for remembering Lesley, she is stable at the moment and yesterday her son came home from Afghanistan which made her day. She is being suprisingly chirpy considering what she is going through. She should know in a day or so if it has spread to her lungs.

(((hugs))) to Tristan who is going through a similar thing x

Going to try out the new Aldi this morning, went to Iceland and Morrisons yesterday - needed to stock up as the cupboards were bare.
Later am making some cauliflower and leek cheese in small dishes for the freezer.
Looking forward to Strictly later and I'm a celebrity.

Hope you all have a great day!
    x
    Do what you love :happyhear
