Bengals are very different to 'moggies' both in temperament, looks, markings, personality & structure. They are, in general, more vocal than 'normal' cats. The fur is different too, more like a pelt. My Oscar does not shed hair at all.

I printed this off & showed her Ali's BSH's & she's e-mailed to cancel having him. Also, I said what about a rescue cause then she'll know what she's getting, she dunno how that breed mix will turn out, if they are those breeds this is. Think she's going to have a think about a rescue, I said £150 could buy lots of nice toys & stuff for one! lol plus it'd be vaccinated!

Thanks all for your help, and Kimberley I so want your kitty! lol

    Ha ha no way :D

He cost me a lot of money, he is what you call a pet quality Bengal, you can get some really stunning looking ones with a coat and Rosette markings to die for but they sell for over £1000

You can have one if you save up or if you seek out an ex breeding one to purchase which costs you normally only the neutering fee.

Maybe when the sad day comes & Podge dies, I don't think she'd like another cat & if they don't get on I can't split them up, she normally hisses & runs away but she's sort've used to just me & her so I think she'd be fine with a dog (Once she gets her nose back in joint!) but probably be upset at a cat. She doesn't seem to see dogs as a threat!

It doesn't matter if you want to pay out for a kitten, thats up to you, if everyone got them from rescues no one would buy pedigrees anymore but even though yours is not a Bengal you have given him a home. I just wouldn't advice getting them from the free ad papers/online

I wouldn't have thought £150 for a half bengal was expensive. the last kitten my bf got was from a pet shop and cost £70 unvacinated for a DSH. I'd defenatly rather go to a pet shop than the free ad's. The first kitten i got from the freeads is very shy i think she was mistreated, and the second one i got had fleas and must have been only 4 weeks old. However the pet shop kitten is very healthy and he eats twice as much as the other two who are 6 months older.

I'd much rather adopt from a rescue than go to a pet shop or through the free ads. Buying from free ads or petshops only encouarges the back yard breeders of moggies who are in it for a quick buck rather than the welfare of the cats.

It is expensive, what £150 for a moggy? They are not Bengals. You only get "half Bengals" from BYB who selfishly breed their pedigree bengals with a moggy. Bengal breeders sell their pet quality kittens at a pet price on the non active register and it's a darn shame that irresponsible owners use this cat in the future to breed kittens with a moggy to create "half bengals" just for the money and pass them off as bengals when they are not.
