Wow Lowis...the chocolate oriental on the right is almost identical to my cat Che, who i lost! Im going to have a look at the link for the rescue now, but i would have to think long and hard about another cat. That breed do make such wonderfull pets though...mine used to hang around with my dogs and run to the door when someone rang the bell!

hehe...sorry for tempting you Mely! those two lovely orientals had just arrived when i went to collect T. they were a bit nervous (understandably!) but they were absolutely stunning, very sleek and beautiful :) the lady who runs the Rescue is really nice, and she is great with the cats.

if when you are ready for another cat, and Siamese rescue don't have one that suits you, the various Oriental Cat Clubs all have rescue and welfare people who can help you find a rescue pedigree. some links here http://www.catchat.org/adoption/pedigree.html
and i think there are some links on the Governing Council of Cat Fancy ( GCCF) website too.

good luck, i hope you will be able to share your life with a little furry soul someday soon :) x
  • Answer me something Kimberley, are you talking about the cat in the picture or the bengal cross?? Because I still cant believe why you dont think the bengal in the picture is a bengal. I read, from tigerlily,. that it is a picture of the x breeds father, therefore he MUST be a bengal in the picture. Im NOT talking about a moggy crossed with a bengal being a full bengal, iM TALKING ABOUT THE CAT IN THE PICTURE, AS IT READS THAT THE PICTURE IS OF THE X BREEDS FATHER.
Surely, in order to be a bengal cross, there MUST be a bengal involved???????????

Belive me there are a hell of a lot of bengals that look like that, yes, some look like yours, indeed 3 of mine are even more typey than that, and cost thousands, but please dont insult my intelligence, I have had bengals, form when they had never even been heard of, let alone from when they became a diluted gene pool, and a fashion accessory and please dont think you are the only authority on this!!

Of course two different breeds crossed do not amount to a purebreed, but accept there are full bengals that look like this picture.

No way would I pay out a lot of money for a cross breed. If they are around £40 then yes but over £100 no, but thats me, if someone would then thats fine too but I see many Bengal crosses going for hundreds when they are not worth the money. Some even advertise crosses as Bengals.

I've just bought a kitten recently (as most of you probably know).

Trawling the ads I was amazed at the money people wanted for crosses & "pedigree-but-with-papers"

To me if its got a GCCF slip its a pedigree, if it hasn't its a moggy & should be moggy money (ie free or cheap).
