I am surrounded by boxes and suitcases and I hate the chaos... Right. Whinge over
I am so looking forward to moving, nice new house and I can't wait to unpack everything and start making it a home and not just a house iyswim.
I am not going to be very OS this weekend but from Monday I am going to be the Ulyimate Domestic Goddess :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hugs to everyone and I hope you all have a fab weekend0 -
morning :hello:
been ever so busy today DD started new p/t job so dropped her off for 9am
DS has given me a list of clothes he needs for school play by thursday, including pastel sweater, pastel polo shirt, bandana, cream chinos, black suit, dicky bow and denim dungarees!!!
charity shops provided sweater, polo, black jacket (he wears black trousers and white shirts for school so that completes the suit) OH has a dicky bow
cut price clothes shop had the chinos at £3
but where oh where am I going to find denim dungarees for a 15 yr old with a 32" inside leg
but trawling the charity shops was a nice way to spend the morning and I did get a few other things and some books
picked up eggs and veg from local market then headed for mr T's, wine has 25% off 6 bottles and as my shop was small this week (got a lot of meat in the freezer) I decided to do the Xmas wine shop, 12 bottles which at full price would have been £106, some were half price so it all went through till at £62 and with 25% I paid £46.50, that included 1 champagne so I'm very pleased
DS has hoovered all through while I was out and after I pick DD up at 2pm I'm going to attack the ironing
forgot to say choc oranges are half price in WHSmiths so got a couple to eat whil X factor is on
edited to add got a great bargain in Ethel Austin, the l'oreal eyeshadow I love is discontinued nowbut Ethels had a load in for £2 each :j so I stocked up, and with every purchase you get £2 off a £10 spend

Penny-Pincher!! wrote: »Hi Soapy. I hope Jnr makes an appearance soon. What about a hot curry? Just wanted to send you a hug in advance for labour:D Have you got everything packed, camera ready, batteries blah blah blah? Sounds like you have a great team on board (OH, DD & Mum). Take care. PP xx
I ordered a curry a few nights ago but as I only like Kormas DH said it
wouldn't be strong enough! I wanted it though so we ordered it anyway!
Thanks for the hug. It's much appreciated as although I've been through labour before I'm still terrified!
Yep, everything is packed and DH was charging up the batteries for the camera yesterday!
sistercas... as DD asked if she could go back to Nanny and Grandad's after ballet DH and I have the house to ourselves this afternoon so we may well try your idea! The midwife advised it last time I saw her which shocked my DH! Especially as she said, in front of him "You could try sex, you don't have to enjoy it!!" :rotfl: He spluttered a lot and said "Thanks!" to which she replied, "Oh sorry, I forgot you were in the room!!" :rotfl: I bet people in the waiting room wondered what all the laughing was about in the midwife's room!I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!

Hello everybody and hugs to all. Well, I missed that 1983 programme last night - boo - as we had far too many Stargate Atlantis's to watch. Still it will no doubt be on one of the other ITVs. No snow here - we hardly ever get it - but we are meant to have a light fall in the early hours but heavy rain tomorrow - boo
Mr Rage has gone to PC world to get something for the computer - he did tell me what and it's something to do with an external hard drive but I was reading the offers leaflet from Asda at the time so he really had no chanceThank you to everyone who said I was brave - I come from a long line of battleaxes and it was just instinct. I've chased people before (handbag snatcher (caught) and a burglar for somebody else (didn't catch but Police did and I gave evidence)) and I will probably do it again. In 30 years time if there's a headline about a little old lady beating somebody off with her handbag it'll probably be me! I've just been a bit unsettled. We had planned to see the Bond film last night but I didn't want to go anywhere so we just stayed in. Feeling a bit unsettled but that's about it - apart from the fact if I see a young lad walking past my house I've been giving them the evils from the window..... :rotfl: Also the chlidren from the house up the road have been noticeable by their absence!!! From now on they set one foot in my garden and I'll be out - "mad woman at the house with the trees" will be my new name.
Tonight we'll be having cornish plait and lots of veg and then HM apple crumble (the plait was on offer in Asda). I may also bake as well as the oven is going on - cherry cake and a ginger cake from the beyond baked beans website. Also planning to strip the spare bed (where Mr Rage was when I had 'flu) and have loads of washing to put away. Mr Rage finally rang his brother today about going up for Christmas and, well let's just say there now isn't a problem about putting two more on the Christmas Day lunch.;) I have also sold a total of 11 things on e-bay. I must put more cross stitch magazines on as they are really going and I shall put a load of home and bbc mags on as well - 50p to clear (as I am loathe to put them in the reclycling bin). I have also flogged two of the avon gift sets I needed to get rid of to one of my ex-colleagues who loves the perfume and jumped at the chance to get everything really cheaply. I've also dug out my Christmas cards and will start writing the individual letters this week as well - I have got really behind on my letter writing so they will all have to have the dreaded "round robin".
Golly I'm exhausted already :rotfl:But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

Jet77, good for you for deciding what you want & sticking to it. Life's definitely about more than money (as long as there's enough to pay the bills!!!) I'm sure you will feel much happier in the long run too. I can't wait to finish my degree next spring, so I can then work 3 days a week with any luck (rather than the full-time work placement I am having to do - much as I enjoy it).
Thanks for that SD - it's reassuring to read because I've been in 2 minds. I won't be able to pay mortgage until find another job so am going to take a mortgage holiday for a couple of months while I find p/t work. I know it's not ideal but have been battling bugs since 1st week of Aug but don't get a chance to recover fully as I'm so worn down. Some days I only see DD's for an hour and a half and most of that time is getting them ready for school or bed. I know I can always get admin temping work through a local agency if push comes to shove. If I didn't have a mortgage and rented I would prob be better off not working - silly or what
Anyway .... OSwise ... dusting now done, washing machine working over time and DD's out in garden picking up rubbish and sorting out broken garden toys to go to tip (and getting some well needed fresh air). I've meal planned and made shopping list, wiped down doors and we all sat down and watched a film together so all looking good in the house of JETJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Someone asked where the snow is - Suffolk, funnily enough! I've walked sedate dog but younger tearaway isn't getting out til dark in case I fall over with her. Pride is a terrible thing
Decided to make a big veggie curry this afternoon, partly from my veg box delivery. Am going to cheat and use my cans of \Tesco cheapie curry sauce - the ones people either like or hate. Haven't tried them yet but hopefully I'll like it as I'm doing a lot!
I've decided to keep the heating on all day and even have a scarf round my neck. Blimmin cold outside but the house is nice and toasty now.
Washing drying on radiators. I'm airing my clothes for work and wearing a second time - it really cuts down on WM use.
Did some grocery shopping in Rainbow. They have half price gammon joints if that helps anyone. I also bought some nice wine for Christmas - only bought one bottle though - we'll need a lot more than that! they also have half price frozen turkeys. We get a joint of beef from the butcher for Christmas but I might be tempted to roast a turkey next weekend and freeze slices, curries etc to help out over the Christmas hols.
Off to snuggle on sofa and read

Afternoon all,
Shopped to-day for hopefully the last time this month, seem to be staying within budget this month, Ulick has been buying stuff we didn't need but have eaten and as he has paid for it my grocery budget is winning!
Happy birthday Kiwichick:bdaycake:.
Hugs to all who have been unwell, hope that you are in top form again soon.
We had a big fry up for brunch, so pizza for tea, not in humour of doing much, might soak some fruit for Christmas pudding, Ulick announced last night that he would like one, he hasn't eaten any for years so he had better try this one if I make it, otherwise I will eat it all, and I can't afford to!!
Not too cold here, couldn't handle the idea of snow...love it when nobody is going anywhere and roads are clear but hate the slippery roads.
Petrol prices have gone down here by more than 20c per litre over that past few weeks, in spite of an 8c tax hike in the budget, am trying to gauge the optimum time to get heating oil, we need some between now and Christmas, might wait until end next week....must check balance.
Have planned nothing except knitting for weekend, so will enjoy sitting at fire and will try to ignore the non-stop sport on tv!
Have a good weekend
