  • Afternoon all
    1) Make soup for next weeks lunches DONE
    2) Do the ironing
    3) Sort out another box of books for Freecycle DONE
    4) Do a fridge/freezer audit & decide what to eat next week. Done

Not quite sure what is in the soup, I've had a huge tin of something french that I think might be duck in the cupboard, so I opened it & chucked it in the SC with a chopped onion & some other veg, it seems to taste ok, lol, & I've made a loaf of bread.
I've checked the fridge & freezer, all I need is potatoes to feed us next week. I've also sorted my larder cupboard out but I didn't find much of interest. I try to work the same system my grandma used, as soon as I open a packet something I buy another one, so I always have one in use & one in waiting. I think I'll do a turkey casserole tomorrow instead of a roast & then use up all the odd chops etc from the freezer, then I'll have room for my Christmas meats.
I have another box of books ready for freecyle, all that's left is the ironing & I'll do that whilst watching Merlin.
    I think I'll have a snooze for 15 mins.
    Hugs Hester

  • No snow  I have however made the following for the over whilst the plait is on cherry cake, orange cake (lemon drizzle with organe instead) and ginver cake. Looks like cake for afters for next week. Put all my washing away - Mr Rage still has to put his shirts etc away - so I'm going to do that now :rotfl: Right off to do a bit of tidying/admin and then I'm watching "The Santa Clause 3"!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    evening all,

B****y hell its freezing, I am sitting here in joggers thick socks long t shirt, fleece, with 2 hot water bottles, a blanket and the heating on full blast, and I can still feel the cold.

Had a busy day today, went to the car boot sale this morning, got some lovely sprouts on the stalk, a romanesco (italian cauli ) some huge leeks, and some lovely tomatoes, think it will be soup making next week.

We also layed some stepping stone type slabs up to the washing line, which is something I have been wanting to do for years, to save getting muddy when I hang the washing, it looks good and only took us an hour, and will save the kitchen floor getting muddy :T .

Also took little dog out for a nice walk, which was ok all the time we were walking, but if we stopped for anytime it was really cold.

Odd to do tea now, have good evenings all, and keep warm xx

    Evening all :hello:

It's freezing here today. I've got my cosiest sweater on and have still just had to put the heating on.

I spent most of the morning doing nothing :o and then went out on foot for a lenghty round trip involving Aldi, Asda and a couple of local ethnic supermarkets. Spent a small fortune and have decided not to go to M&S this weekend for the £10 deal after all - I am determined not to overspend any further. Also, I've already got loads of wine in stock, and an organic chicken in the freezer. Really should use up what I've got before I buy more!

Tonight am making the lasagne out of the Jamie Oliver MoF book, with yellow-stickered organic mince  Am doing some more cooking for the freezer tomorrow. Looking forward to watching Harry Hill and X Factor with a nice glass of wine :)

Hugs to all who need them! Congratulations on your DS's theory test mrs_mix, and happy birthday to kiwichick :bdaycake:

And I hope the Soaplet decides to put in an appearance soon!

    Love Rzl xx

  • Evening all.

Our M&S dinner last night was lovely and I still have half of the wine left over so shall have that tonight.

Went to Mr A today spent £75 far more than i intended but got lots of meat etc. Think it is to be very cold this week so will use my SC to make lots of lovely warm food. No snow here yet but i think it may snow tonight is very cold.

Have done no OS things today. We even had a takeout as I couldn't be bothered after going round MrA to cook. Might get a washing put on tonight if I get a chance.

Life good at the minute, things seem to be going well, 2 of the kids now at secondary school, the other 2 are doing well and looking forward to their birthdays in a the next few days (what sort of planning was that having 2 kids around the end of Nov, early Dec!!!!)
Once dd birthday out of the way on the 4th we will get the decs up and start the countdown, left to dd they would have been up weeks ago!!!

Today iv had a big clear out and clean up, filled 3 huge bags with clothes to weigh in for the school charity, they get paid per ton they collect and we always seem to do really well and saves me having to freecycle or trips to charity shop.

    Hello All,

I've hadaread through the thread but onlymnaged to take in a bit so hugs to those I forget to mention xx

Soapy - Hope things go well for you, my last DD was overdue and I tried EVERYTHING, even forced myself to eat a Jalfrezi:eek: The upshot of it all is that jr will come when good and ready (probably hiding out inside as its heard we are due snow!!!!)

PP - Lovely to see you posting again chick, hope you are feeling a bit better x

Well, its been a lovely birthday for me. Got some lovely bits from friends, including a totally fab calendar which I am a bit overexcited about :o . DH has gone totally ott and paid for 2 nights in a hotel for me. We've had a shocking 18 months or so but seem to have pulled through the worst of it now and our relationship is slowly rebuilding itself. He knows how stressful I've been finding things and wants me to have some time to myself so I can relax bless him.

He cut his finger badly at work on friday whilst doing the washing up so I've made my own birthday cake rather than risk him tear to stiches - OUCH. Will be having a slice later with a mug of tea.

DH has had some good news for himself this week, he has passed his exam to be a chartered surveyor. He failed last year and was devastated as its such a lot of hard work to do on top of a full time job. So we are all very pleased for him as it will ease the stress at work for him a little.

No snow for us either today, was so hoping we would get some, maybe tomorrow??

Love and hugs to all, HUGE thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes,
    Al x

Kiwi, well done to your DH

Just seen this on the Freeies board, it is for a Showersmart - apparently a device which you fit to your (non-electric) shower and it regulates the flow to 7.8l/min

    Might be useful for someone

Done the ironing, did an empty boil wash on the WM and taken all the recycling to town, plus a few bits to the charity bin. Car was not too bad, only £55 :)
