Hi all!
Well, last night was THE NIGHT! (not in that way you dirrrty minded people! :rotfl:)
OH and I sat down and paid off...... everything (well all credit cards and my loan, still my old HSBC OD to sort, but I will do that myself!)
Total paid out just under £17,000!!! But, about £2,800 of that is OH's, leaving me with approx £14,200. Just need to wait now for the next batch of statements to come through to see what piddly bits of interest are left and then it is card cutting up time and OH repayment time!! (seeing as I am really rather impatient, I will be checking my online accounts requently to get everything cleared as quick as poss). Unfortunately a few of the cards got paid in the past few / next few days, so I have had to kinda guesstimate what is owed!!
Oh asked me afterwards if I felt any better about having paid everything off - I said I did feel a bit better as I/we are saving soooo much in interest, but at the end of the day, I now owe him instead of the banks! Doesn't matter which way I look at it, £14,200 is still £14,200 that I owe!!
Right, thats it from me for now - will be back with an update as and when bits and pieces show a balance of £0.00!!!
Hope you are all well and still beating a path on the route to debt-freedom?

Wow, what a wonderful OH you have! wish someone would give me the money to pay off my debts, least you know its all 0% and you havent got a set amount to pay so can pay off more or less depending on how your month has gone.
December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0 -
Hi Rags, I do have to say that my OH is an absolute star and I do love him very much (most of the time! lol)
Once everything is sorted, I will be setting up a standing order to pay him back at £100 every Friday (my payday) - at this rate I will pay back £5,200 per year and still have a little 'spare' left for me, to make life more comfortable. Will be nice to be able to set aside even a few pounds each month for 'savings'. I will still use cashback sites.... I now hate paying more than I have to for anything!
I do consider myself very lucky to have such a wonderful OH - but at the end of the day, I still owe £14,200(ish) so I will be hanging around on this site for a while yet *if you'll all still have me?*start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Awww, thanks Lemon Tree! :j
Well, in my typical impatient way, I have had a quick look at some of my CC balances online this morning (the ones I can remember all my login details for!) and nothing has changed yet! How frustrating is that?? Hopefully by Monday payments should start to show and then I can start tidying up the odd bits of interest!
Well, it's Friday again (always a good day as its payday!) - I hope you all have a fab weekend, and the weather is not as carp as they predict! xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

i think we're all desparate to see balances come down, I was particularly 'sad' yesterday because i figured out how to show my A&L 'savings' account when i log in to Abbey. which also means that i can instantly move money between the accounts which helps when i've saved enough to pay back my next loan early. Only MSE folks would understand how good that made me feel.0

Lemon Tree - I am with you 100%!! 'Seeing' your accounts is only a tiny bit removed from the joy I have from playing with my spreadsheet!

Morning All!!
I hope the weekend has got off to a good start for you? We are just waiting for it to rain here - but as I am at work til 2pm I am not that bothered!
Well, in my own truly impatient style, I logged onto Egg this morning..........and................ my Egg Card and Egg Money card are both showing a £0.00 balance!! :j Now, all have to to is keep an eye on the 2 DD's that are due out next Friday. They are both set at the minimum anyway (:o), so if they go, I can just contact Egg and ask them to send the money back! I am sure that there will be a little odd amount of interest to pay anyway. So thats 2 (virtually) down - just 5 more cards and my loan to go!I am hugely enjoying updating my geeky spreadsheet by taking off DD's from September - as I haven't yet put back in the £100 per week to my OH (as he has said wait until everything is at £0.00 before you start that) my bank account projection for the rest of the year looks.... lovely!
I am still not sure how much my pay rise is worth to me each week - simply because I worked 6hrs overtime last week, so that was in my wages this week as well. I should get a 'standard' pay slip in the post this Tues/Wed, so then I will know more or less (more or less as due to being paid more this week, I paid more to my student loan and in tax, so there will be a small adjustment next week - well thats what normally seems to happen anyway!)
Right, well as I am in my office, I 'spose I should really do something work related! :rotfl:
Have a great weekend all! Nats xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
