    ERM...........No!

Sorry OBNW, but he is ALL mine! :D

Have been playing with my pesky spreadhseet (I am such a number nerd it is unreal) and I am not sure what to do (simply because I will still be left with some debts, all at varying interest rates.) I think the best plan of attack would be to discuss this with my OH and see what figure he has in mind. Then, see if he would be willing to put the money in my current account and leave me to distribute it accordingly!!:o

Also, I have totted up the credit cards that 'we share' and it is not as bad as I thought (although this means that MY debt is bigger!)....

    (approx)
    Barclays £1950.00
    Halifax £1200.00
    Tesco £1800.00

So a total of £4950.00, making my OH's half £2475.00 and if he wants to cover my loan as well, that stands at (approx) £3000.00.

So if he were to pay off £7950, I would owe him £5475.....but obviously it would be interest free.

With the £7950.00 I would ideally like to wipe off my loan (saving approx £250 a month) and the Abbey card (all my debt) (saving approx £100 a month). This would leave me £350 a month better off that I could use to pay off the other cards.

Initial 'excitement' of having a chunk of debt paid off has subsided already as I will still need to repay OH.

    Its such a conundrum!

    LOL!! :rotfl:What a tough decision.

Although, I seem to remember from a time way back when, that you said you were blonde! (when we were guessing what everyone looked like!) If this is the case you may be in with a chance!!.... my OH annouced the other evening that he 'had always had a bit of a thing for blondes!' Initially I was a little troubled by this, being a brunette myself until I went back though his previous girlfriends..... and realised that NONE of them were blonde!!! :rotfl: So much for a 'thing!!'

Do it! I actually felt MORE obliged to pay back my parents than my bank cards, it can be done more managably and without interest! So long as you pay him back the same you'd have been paying back anyhow I reckon it's definitely the way to go!!

Just caught up on NY sounded fantastic!!!

    Hi E-JH!

I must admit that I had a wonderful time in NYC - Wouldn't have been possible though without my birthday money from my mum! It was a 'relative cheap' trip as 5 nights were at my friends house and we got really good bargain on the 4 nights we had to find accomodation for; oh, and my flights are good value too - although I never want to spend 9hrs in economy ever again! lol

Oh and I are going to sit down at some point this week and work out a plan. I don't want to go on about it as he is just getting used to the idea of having some money - initially he didn't feel like he deserved the money and didn't even want to touch it.... after a few conversations (initiated by him) he can see that he needs to do the sensible thing with it (ie, clear his debts) and how much of an impact it will have on his amount of 'free' money each month. I am going to feel a little guilty at 'taking' his money, even though I will pay back every penny!!!

Loved the pic of your roller-derbying! There is one down this way, but still quite a trek to get too - I will keep watching though for a nearer one!

    Hi All -

Just a quick update.... Barclaycard lovingly reduced my C/C limit from £9,200 to £2,400 on Friday  and have technically closed my account - my card will apparently no longer work. Only 1 month after they offered me a 15 month 0% deal (that apparently I messed up the back of both cheques on! Highly suspicious!! lol) So all hopes of another 0% deal and getting a chunk of debt to 0% has now vanished. On the upside, my available credit has been dramatically reduced so if I maintain my repayments my credit rating may improve a little!
