*my Diary* - Omg!

Options
Hi All!

Having spent ages getting the weekly money saving tips email I finally ventured on here on Wednesday 19th Nov 2008. This followed my LBM:rolleyes:

My LBM came on Wednesday evening on my way home, just as the cashpoint said I could have the tenner I wanted, but would have to pay £25-00 for the privilege! I took my card and walked away without the tenner - yes, in the past I would have taken it despite the charge!

Wednesday I sat down and used the Personal Budget Plan that HSBC recently sent me in response to my letter trying to reclaim my charges due to hardship.

My total debt £18,225

After a gulp and a period of wanting to cry, I got angry with myself for letting myself get in this state. I think it is this self-anger that will keep me going!!

I always thought that I was quite tech-savvy, but find it hard to locate things on this site, so when I find the SOA template (I think there is one somewhere!) I will put it on here for you all to view and welcome your comments.

I did have a stroke of 'good luck' last night when I found an empty Abbey credit card. I contacted them and took advantage of their 0% BT offer. 0% until August 2009. I moved money from Egg card (currently at 17.9%) and Egg money (currently at 12.9%). There is a little space left on the Abbey card at 0% - do I transfer some money to my overdraft (HSBC £800-00) where I am bouncing over their limit and getting those annoying charges?

Today, I have made a packed lunch for the second day in a row (a record for me).

Tonight I need to work out my available cash for the week (I get paid weekly!)

Thanks for reading!

    Hi Cautious Paul,

Actually I should be thank you (along with a couple of others) for it was read your own diary that made me think of joining in with one of my own!

My OH used to gamble (horses mainly, online) and in part I 'spose this has added to my situation as I found I had to cover more of the everyday things like food etc! He has stopped gambling now and is also trying to sort himself out!

There are only lessons to be learnt from looking back - looking forward is the way to go!! Although I only have £40-00 to spend between now and Thursday 27th! It is all my own fault - I can't blame anyone (apart from the bank charges! lol)

We can and we will do it! My life is not going to be the same for a while - but after it will be much better!

Have just realised I did not take into account my fuel of £15 this morning and my mobile bill of £22.00!!
Available cash for the week £5!! B*gger!!
