Hi! Yeah you can still get 20 cigs for under a fiver! Something like Mayfair Smooths you can get for about £4.66. My fav's (which I haven't had for ages now) are Marlboro Lights, but they are about £5.80 ish a pack!!!
I am on roll-ups now (courtesy of my OH) as I have £2.10 to last until Friday. AND I AM NOT GOING OVER MY OVERDRAFT LIMIT!!!!!!! (especially not for cigarettes!) :Tstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I have signed up to QYPE to do some reviews. If I do 50 by Sunday, (30.11.08) I will get £50 in Amazon vouchers! Does anyone know how I will get the voucher and how long it will take?
Many thanks in advance for your help, Natstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Hi All!
I have decided to do a weekly update on a Friday, as that is when I get paid and I will know what I need to do (or will have to spend) for the next week!!
:rotfl:
So a quick look back at the past week.....
I have spent not a lot (compared to what I would normally have done). £2.90 on posting 2 items for ebay and then yesterday I discovered I had £4.67 left in my account, and knowing that I got paid today I spent £4.66 on a packet of cigarettes! The aim of the week was not to go over my OD limit, and I succeeded (albeit by 1p)!
This week, I have no DD's leaving my account, so have budgeted the following.... (£340.56 to my OD limit)
I have taken £40 off - this will stay in my account and will be used to reduce my OD. (£300.00 left)
I am going to withdraw £90 for the week to cover, food, cigarettes, diesel and £20 to my OH for being a total love and supporting me this week! :A ) (£210.00 left)
I will pay the odd on my 2 Egg cards (shouldn't be an awful lot!)(£180.00 left?)
I will split the difference between my Abbey card and xmas presents (as I haven't bought any yet - I will be using the cashback sites though!!)
I have been a bit of a numpty! When I worked out my total debt (see signature) I didn't add on the charge for moving 2 balances to 0% at Abbey, so I need to increase this by £200.00  Ho-hum
:T I have done 50 reviews on Qype - so am now just waiting to hear about my £50 Amazon voucher!:T
Have a good weekend everyone and keep going with dealing with your debts!!

Hi! Being new to this (so please excuse my ignorance!) how do people get to pay £20k by xmas 2009?That is more than my take home pay for the year? I have signed up to some cashback sites and qype, but I think I must be missing something! I will have a look at the thread for the challenge to see if there are any tips there!

Right guys - heres the score......
I have a loan with Egg at 7.5% fixed until May 2011 - balance of £6500
I have £6500 on 0% until next August.:T
Which do I over pay? I was thinking the loan but with the economic state, do I try and reduce the 0% balance in case there is nothing but high interest rates around when it ends?
All thoughts warmly welcomed!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Sorry Nats,
I'm new too, and may start a diary (if you don't mind me copying!) I just don't understand the acronyms?? What's an LBM?
Emms
12.54 - DOH:doh: Just read it on a post. My LBM was probably about the same date!!! Actually just looked at the calendar, was Monday 17th!!!
I'm not hugely in debt, but I have enough for my liking and I'm struggling. More than that, until my LBM I was spending more than I earned. Only a little each month - but hey that all adds up!!!
Here's to making a start!!! :grouphug:
LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
Challenges - 2009 - Reduce CC to £1k by December
June - Food £86/£130 * Petrol £50/£80 * Weekly allowance * £80/£1600 -
Hi LittleEmms - welcome on board!
Don't worry about asking questions - there is sooo much to learn and nothing is a silly question!
Well done on facing up to your debts! :T Somehow, just joining in on here makes things seem better and there is a wealth of ideas and information to be gleaned!!
Something I had never even thought of is the 'daily clicks' and cash back sites! These things can take up relatively little time and if done regularly can return you a nice little bit of free cash!
I would encourage everyone to do a diary - and post a SOA (I'm sure someone will give you the link, I have no idea where its gone!) People can then look at your money and come up with tips, hints and suggestions to help shave away some expenditure!!
Keep coming back to the site -there are plenty of people whos achievements should help give you the boost to deal with your debts!!

Thanks Nats!!!
You're so right. Just by doing the budget planner, I felt so much better!! It was rubbish to see I was overspending, but I now know where I was going wrong!!! A relief in itself. And coming on here and admitting it was a massive relief. I've also got less embarrassed about telling people my situation now. Sometimes its the only way they realise just how skint I am (see other post about xmas goods!)
It also made me do my council tax reclaim. Which when I realised I'm paying the same as neighbours who have a two bed house, when I have a one, really encouraged me!!! And I only sent my letter on Monday - recorded! And already got a reply this morning agreeing to look into it (fingers crossed!!)
I will definitely do a SOA... probably this evening. I've kinda made a start in a book anyway (along with keeping track of every penny I am spending) as thats what has helped me make a start - I just need to post it on here.
I just wish I'd done this a few months ago!!
Thanks again Nats!!! :TLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
