    Hi everyone.
I've just escaped from MrW for a while, he is complaining because we have too much food in the cupboards and freezers. I told him that it's not my fault if Sainsbury's want to give stuff away for 10p and sell lovely organic meat at half price. It will all be eaten and enjoyed so what's the fuss with that?
I got mega bargains at Netto this morning. We only went to find a chemist but decided to call in Netto because they had their reduced sugar and salt beans on offer and these are the only beans I like. So I got 12 beans at 9p each and then found Mr Kipling mince pies at 10p a box, Christmas puddings at 49P and yummy boxes of shortbread at 54p with sell by date October. I also got a fresh chicken 75p and extra lean mince 75p. Ended up with two big bags full for £14.
So the chicken is in the slow cooker, the dog will get most of it, he's a very spoilt dog, but I will use some to make pie tomorrow and of course some stock for soup.
For dinner yesterday we had a treat, sea bass, it was gorgeous but I could have made a week's worth of meals for what it cost.
I must do some ironing this afternoon, I need my best trousers for tomorrow's hospital visit.
I'd better go and see if MrW has calmed down!
  • Decided to christen the slow cooker I bought last week with a Brisket roast. I can't wait to see how it comes out and the smell is driving me crazy!! I'm just about to put my work clothes in the wash for tomorrow (boo hiss back to work!) and then I've got to clean H2B's car so we can sell it.

Just made a pan of stew from things that needed using up and the phone rang. Mum wants us to go for dinner so the stew will be saved for tomorrow.

    Very money saving!

os not much going on today as i am entertaining my parents until this afternoon.
last night though i did a full freezer and cupbard(and cupboard under stairs) inventory!!! i am thoroughly ashamed!!! i have stocks of nappies, cleaning stuff, loo roll etc too and i'll only need to buy milk, fruit+veg and a few odd ingredients for 2 or 3 months!!! so we are going to eat that lot down!!! will still buy reduced stuff in the meantime though :-)

Just finished lunch (toad in the hole from reduced sausages, mash & veggies left over from yesterday - followed by homemade Jam sponge & cream yum) and now looking what we can have for tea - one day I will be more organized!

I've found a packet of shortcrust pastry in the fridge (one of those bake in the oven ones) - thinking about doing this:

    Pastry into a quiche dish
a couple of packets of thick custard as filling

bake in the oven for required time and then top with sliced bananas

What do you think?? Any better sugguestions gladly received
