Late up this morning, have to get up early tomorrow as I have to visit a friend in the morning, need to get an early start, also have an airport run on Friday to Birmingham another friend off to Cyprus for 3 weeks (lucky girl).

(((((Caterina))))) I kow how much the things you have listed will upset you, but keep reminding yourself that it's only a few weeks a year. Go on, put those ear-rings on & strut your stuff:beer:
I don't post on the daily threads much these days as Spud keeps me fully occupied, but one of my resolutions is to try & post once a week.
Spud has now moved into his cot in his own room & is back to waking up just once in the night after 2 months of waking every 2 hours:eek::eek::eek: so I feel a bit more human again;)
This week I start my new years new routine with him, no not another disasterous attempt to get him into a feeding pattern (the hell with what the books say, I'll feed him when he's hungary & he can sleep when he's tired. It's taken us 2 month to regain any ground from the last !!!! up!) but a rough plan of how to keep him occuioped & stimulated each day without losing touch with my sanity:rotfl: So today it's a walk to the local shops ( I have spyed a possible 2006 Xmas pressie half price in Woolies:rolleyes: Yes, I'm well on the way with pressies already, I just can't help myself). I need to make up a big batch of wholemeal pasta salad for hubbys work lunches for the next 6 days & have a root around in the freezer to see what is lurking for tonights dinner & what possible components of meals there are for the rest of the week. I feel an orange poached salmon & pesto cous-cous comming though, nice & easy;)
Hugs to everyone who has to go back to work/school tomorrow.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Morning all. A peacefull household today. (Step Daughter issues!!)
A good clean up today - everyone has been allocated a room (although with the usually handing out of jobs, I have 3 times the load!!!!) Will start that once Piglets Big Movie is over!
Christmas Decorations will be put away today, and the left over sweets and stuff in the cupboard. At least the theory is out of sight, out of mind!
Bought lots and lots of stuff really cheap today - the local newagents/co-op is closing down next week and as FIL is the current manager, I get first pickings of the markdowns! So thats half the tescos shop done!
Thats about it today. Other than a clean/tidy up, its a pretty do nothing day.
Have a nice day!0 -
Morning all, everything has been curtailed for the day re my plans to go to the tip and hang the curtains as DH has been called into work tonight so I am stuck here with the kids
To add insult to injury I have a cold sore on my nose and it really hurts!! So I am just going to concentrate on getting the uniforms ready although DS doesn't go back until Thursday. We have decided that there is no point trying to get the house straightened up with DD1 moving out as we will be moving all three bedrooms around then. DS will be going up into her room, he can't wait as it's the huge attic room. We will be going back into the master bedroom and DD2 will be going into the 'boxroom', bit of a euphamism really as it's 11' x 11' . I have to go and get some pink paint but I have a £3 Dulux voucher so that will help out. I can't wait to create this really pink and girly fairyland for herOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning everyone :hello:
Still in my PJ's, just eaten some toasted treacle farls with my HM butter (yummy).
Strange night - sleepwise in the House of Mouse, last night. Both Mr TM and myself couldn't sleep (I had made the mistake of thinking about budgets etc just before I hit the sack so my mind was racing) then DS2 appeared at 12.30 with a leaky nappy and DS1 2 minutes later. All ended up in our bed and it was like a mexican wave everytime someone movedTrouble was, Mr Tm usually started it, followed by DS1, DS2 then me getting an elbow in the ribs etc.
Anyway, woke this morning to remember I forgot to put BM on last night (It's on a quick loaf as I type) and I didn't soak my pulses for the soup I wanted to make for lunch. Will check out the threads for 'speedy soaking' in a mo.
I'm not even going to start inventorying my cupboards yet - can't get in them for food. Mum came for tea yesterday, armed with all her leftovers - in case I hadn't enoughI haven't worked out my Dec budget (I allocated myself £380) and although I did spend a bit more on food, I bought some great Xmas eve bargains that are in the freezer, so Jan should be a cheap month
Right, off to shower and get dressed, then those blessed decs ARE coming down today and I can clean properly. May even escape for an hour today cos a shop I use is closing soon and I want to check out the bargains (I need to fill the present box again)
Caterina (((hugs))) It'll soon be over, and enjoy those earrings. There's nothing you can do about it now, so don't depress yourself about the cost. You have 12 months to re-educate your OH

Hi everyone!
I'm back at work tomorrow too. I'm not looking forward to it at all as I have got into a nice comfortable routine of late nights and late mornings and I have been doing my knitting and cleaning and the house looks the tidiest it has been in ages. When I'm at work this just goes to pot!
Today I will get DS's school uniform ready - he goes back on Thursday. I will also change the bedlinen in our room and put on DS's clean linen. I have printed off the organizedhome.com freezer and pantry inventory sheets (thanks Queenie) so I will do that as well if I get the chance, then I can convert that into some kind of menu plan. I also need to make sure I always take lunch to work as this can cost about £5 a day if I don't. I want to take some time off work later in the year so I need as much of a financial buffer as possible to allow me to do that.
I cooked a large chicken yesterday for our roast dinner and there is a mountain of meat left over. I will have a look through the index to see what I can do with leftover cooked chicken.
Have a good day everyone. I hope those of you who are feeling down feel a bit better soon.

Afternoon all
Been to Slimming World and have put on 2lbs so that make it a grand total of 8 over the last 3 weeks, so will revert back to "food optimising" from now on. Going to make a slow cooker full of Slimming world friendly stew, also DD friendly when mashed up so kills 2 birds with one stone. Apart from that, going to spend the afternoon ironing and watching last nights sky+ Poirot.
have a good daySorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Hi Everyone,
Well I have failed miserably so far with one of my new years resolutions which was to get up ealier - it was 11 am this morning! Ive just had my brekkie and am sitting here in my jimjams.
Yesterday I had a mega sort out. The house has been a complete tip for a week, my mum came to stay so DD's shared a room and mum had DD2's room. Mum went home and DD2's room had to be emptied so that OH could construct the loft bed that we bought her for Xmas. This took a couple of days and a trip to Ikea for different shelving as the old shelving would not fit.
Anyway yesterday all Xmas pressies went upstairs and were put away, all bedrooms were dusted and vacced and tidied up so house is almost back to normal. I had taken advantage of the chaos to have a mega clear out in bedroom, I now have an ebay pile, a car boot pile, a charity shop pile, a rubbish pile etc. OH os looking for boxes for me at the mo to put it all in.
I have also tackled my filing, and had a good clear out of paperwork, which I am ashamed to say I had not done for 2 years, I used to do it regularly every few months. It is now all up to date, and I have a list of things to do, re cheaper insurances, gas and elec etc, (see Martin, I have read your list of things to do over Xmas!)
All in all I feel quite virtuous, OK I havent done my meal planning etc BUT its on my to do list so Ill get there eventually. DD's are back to school on Thursday, coats, bags and PE kit etc has all been washed but I have done no ironing since before Xmas so that is next on my to do list. However it is OH's last day off work today and as we have not set foot outside the door in days we are going to take the girls to see "cheaper by the dozen 2" (using the vouchers we got for Xmas) as cheaper by the dozen 1 is DD2's fave bedtime film.
Can anyone tell me as I am never quite sure, when is 12th night? OH will not let me take down Xmas decs until then (although at least a third of them have disappeared) and I am desperate to take them down!0 -

(For some reason a lot of people think it's the 6th but that's Epiphany)
My decs won't get taken down until Friday at least, as I'm off to a concert after work on Thursday...Operation Get in Shape
