    Hi Everyone,

Have just managed to get on line as I've been suffering with gastroenteritis for the past few days_pale_ . Am starting to feel a bit better, but have not had a cuppa for a few days. Was happy this morning as I've received my copy of the BBC series of Pride and Predjudice for £3.00 (thanks pigsback/cd wow) and another book via the readit.swapit website.
I'm hoping to visit Argos tomorrow, with some vouchers I got for Xmas. Looks like it will be for a new microwave, as ours is on the blink. Hope everyone else has had a good start to the weekend. Think I might head off for an early night...

    Good evening everyone!

I hope you are all well. I just thought I'd let you know about a couple of OS events in the Chickadee house. Last weekend DS came home from his Dad's and nnounced that he wanted to spend some of his Christmas money on a game for his PS2 (Fifa 06). Here we go, I thought, a trip to GAME is in order. Oh no. Not my son! Mum, he said, I though you could look for me on Ebay for it because it should be cheaper there. We did and he bought it for £28, as opposed to the £35 I have seen it for in the shops. He was made up and I was thrilled that he is learning to look after his money!

Second OS-worthy event happened today. I use Estee Lauder foundation, which is really expensive but it is better than any other I have found. We went into Boots and I had £19.42 in points on the card. The foundation costs £21. So I went to the Advantage card thingy and printed off a voucher for 150 extra points off some body wash, bought the body wash, plus a few items I needed, amounting to £7, used my double points coupon, then went back to the Estee Lauder counter for my free £21 foundation. :D

Sometimes this money-saving is so much fun!

    Have a great evening everyone.

    I like your style chickadee!

Estee Lauder foundation is my favourite too - but because I don't wear a lot of make-up I only have to shell out for it every 2 years or so :o

I had a taste of free luxury myself today - I was at the Royal Opera House on my £7 bargain standing-room ticket, and I ran into 5 friends, one of whom is a lawyer i.e. rich, and what's more he got promoted yesterday so treated us all to decent champagne, and that's at Royal Opera House prices too :D:D:D:D Not OS at all but it didn't cost me a penny so I ain't complaining :D:D:D:D

    hello everybody!!!!

very late post from me, had a bad sleep and then had to get up early as f.i.l was coming to fit our new bathroom. it looks fab, will be even better when we finish it. today i have been going to and from m.i.l's house using her washing machine, managed to get 5 washes done. still got about 4 left to do so may do some more tomorrow. while f.i.l was fitting the new cystern he noticed it was leaking - it had a massive crack. we then had to rush to perth to pick up another one!!

pp- wanted to say your quiche looked so professional, you could run a sideline supplying us all with homemade quiches. i rarely get one as my fiance doesn't like them - wonder if he would like one he had control over the contents etc.

curry queen - well done on the driving, i'm so pleased for you

johanne - sorry about the house but as the saying goes ' what's for you won't go past you'
    bye

  • Morning:hello:

My internet connection has been playing up and this is the 1st time ive managed to log in since 4.30am:eek:

Had a good day yesterday and was lovely to see my sister and kids.

WM is on as I type and will be put on airer once done. Toilet has been cleaned and DW only half full, so will be put on after lunch I would think. The floors will be swept this morning and kitchen sides polished up....again! Also, OH is cleaning the car in and out later as the glass is quite yucky and coming home in dark last night he noticed it was bad:eek: . So he is going to use the vinegar spray solution for all the glass and mirrors and wipe everything else inside with a damp micrfibre cloth and flash.

Have one of DD's friends coming round after lunch for the afternoon, so think DD & OH will be making some cakes and they will double up as cakes for her lunchbox too:D

DD was not happy on friday, but she sorted her room out. Its quite small and needs loads of shelving for storgage etc, but until OH finishes decorating (and now has bad back) not alot can be done. She has done the best she can......and still cant find the Gerbil:confused:

I have 53 auctions running ATM on ebay and some finish today, so hopefully ive made a little money:j which will be put in our ebay fund account for anything we need (clothes, stuff for house, etc etc), so in theory and new items cost nothing as its only money which ive made through selling stuff. Need to sort out my wardrobe as I have many items that dont fit me anymore and some with tags still on them....sale items of course!!

    Breakie:Scrambled Egg/Toast
    Lunch:Spud & Chilli
Tea/Dinner:Chicken, Stuffing, Roast Spuds, New Potatoes(make extra for me lunch tomorrow and potatoe salad, HM yorkies, carrots, cabbage, peas and gravy.

Im feeling wiped out today, becuase of the travelling etc yesterday, so will not be doing too much...just pottering...I dont think my body will allow me to do too much anyway. Have my SIL coming tomorrow, so need to make a list of stuff for her to do around the house:rolleyes: Also, need to sort my accounts out and credit cards, but can do this from my sofa with a blanket over me:D

    Will call in later.

    Have a great day.

    PP

    Morning PP

Make sure you take it easy today - I am feeling wiped out as DH has had one of these sickness bugs and taken to his bed for th last 2 days - which has left me to deal single handedly with the little inkies - not an issue in itself but they leave a trail of disaster behind them! My DD1 has come over all moody and sulky (9ys) which doesn't help at all.

We too are having chicken, homemade stuffing carrots peas and roast potatoes, HM yorkies for dinner today.

How do people do their roasties - do you guys parboil them first? I used to and then I was watching a chef on GMTV who said not to bother, but peel, cut them up, drizzle them in olive oil and roast for around 40 min on 220oc. Have tried this and have been doing it ever since.

Better get a shift on as I am out preaching at another church this morning - the joys of being a minister mean working every Sunday! And then i'll take the kids out for a run about this afternoon to blow the cobwebs off at the country park - free parking off course!

Wishing every one a good day X

    Morning

Am up early this sunday already dressed and showered as we are going to Colchester Zoo in about half an hour courtesy of tesco clubcard.

I hate this time of year as hate being in the house each weekend we are going on holiday at eoJan but decided we need a day out - hopefully will stay dry today.

Am taking munchies but will have lunch there if we stay till then as probably will need something warm.

When I come home will be doing my ironing and have the joys on doing nit checks on both children - dont think they have them but do checks every couple of weeks to make sure.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I par boil potatoes in their skin and then let them cool for a while - the skin then slides off easily- put in oiled pan - shake to coat all over and bake for about an hour.

PP - you really need to rest - has the stair lift been installed yet?

Just popping in here as later DD (12) has birthday bowling party at Megabowl in York. Have to leave by 9.30 am.

Must remember to take plenty of hankies as now my nose has started to run and am coughing so taking a lem sip before we go.
