Maybe the board guide fairy could merge these two? :D

I've been called many things, but never a fairy! :D

Early start this morning to watch ds1 playing rugby, but it's a lovely sunny morning here so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Its my first day off after seven days at work so I'll be spending lots of time tidying and cleaning. I might do some cooking for the freezer this afternoon to use up the reduced shin and chicken breasts I managed to pick up in Asda last night.

Ticklemouse, I'm glad your son is feeling better today.
Bargain Rzl, Good luck with the interview on Tuesday.
ronankfan, I hope your eye gets better soon.
thriftlady, Its good to hear your daughters feeling a bit better.

I hope everyone enjoys their day!

    Hello all.

An early start for me today - posted an ebay parcel and a book swap, did a mystery shop (another £7.92 of food for "free") and went to charity shop where I bought some more books.
Relaxing now with a cup of redbush tea and will shortly put on WM and BM.

TM - Just to warn you, I had terrible night sweating before coming down with chicken pox, so your son may get it yet. I had it at age 37 and it was awful - it left me drained for weeks and susceptible to every infection going for the next couple of years. Much better to get it while you're a child!

Very good though, beautiful flavour of quince.:

I have a quince bush & have often wondered what to do with the fruit. I bring them in & put them in a bowl to scent the room but would LOVE to know how to make quince vodka.
I've looked on the recipie thread but can't see it. Please can you let me know how it's made.
    Thanks a lot.

I had a feeling today was not going to be to great. Got up raining. Looked out the back bedroom window to see that husband had left out over night his rechargable jigasw and sander out over night. Now wet  .

Had to go and collect a parcel it was ink cartridges. Some how we got a extra one free. So saved another 99p. Wow.

Went in to Boots got some personal things and another time delay freebie. it shouted at me from the shelf. Take me take me. LOL!!!!!!!

Then I put the slow cooker on for rice pudding for dessert. Went down to check as I was starting lunch. Guess what the sill moo did. Put it on keep warm. Wonder why it was a little runny. Arghhhhhhhhhhh now on high but will have to wait until nearly tea time to get dessert. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then made up some instant mash and didn't have a enough powder so it was like wall paper paste.

And they rang about the freezer either thursday or satruday delivery. I ordered it last wednesday. Doing something on thursday so looks like it is going to be saturday. Was hoping it would be here at the start of the week so I could go shopping on wednesday to fill it up while husband goes off to play Robin hood. ( He does archery)

    Yours

    Calley

    Hello everyone

very OS today - actually walked into town instead of taking the car, only spent cash, & only got 1 more item than I actually needed! And that was only because it was not worth missing. Iceland were selling catering packs of Marvel milk powder for £1.50 - for enough to make 26.3 pints of milk. Normally I pay something like £1.35 for enough to make 8 pints. I will need to store it in an airtight container, but will put some in a jar to keep in the kitchen cabinet. I always use powdered milk to make things like white sauces & custard, as well as in breadmaking, so this is quite a bargain.

Washing is out on the line, although will probably have to finish off in airing cupboard. Other than that & the d/w, not done too much housework today - really must get on & finish clearing up kitchen after my massive drawer-declutter yesterday! It's not de-cluttering if half the clutter is on the worktop, however tidy the drawers may be!!!!!

Calley - My hubby plays Robin Hood too. Its the only thing we have found, that he is actually better at than me (LOL!) so I let him keep his little hobby.
I do make regular jokes about tights though.........

Bought some ballet shoes £9!!! The cheapest ebay ones I could find her size are £8 but at least I know that buying from the shop they will fit properly. The rest of DD3's stuff I will get from Ebay cos the shops prices were outrageous!

Went to Mothercare and bought DD4 some gloves. I have not been able to find mittens to fit her anywhere and NOTHING is on "string" anymore. At least I found some mittens in the sale at £2.00 and a matching hat (sadly all in blue), but I will have to crochet a string type thing together tonight to attach them to.

Also bought her a piglet sleepsuit. A huge fluffy winter one. Reduced from £13 to £5. I would never ever have paid £13 for it! But it will keep her happy. It is so cute and I couldn't resist it!

Did the leisure centre too, so now we can go swimming and stuff much cheap than usual.

Dinner I am making HM burgers. And Mash. And my own butter. (might use it for the mash mmmmmm)

    Afternoon all :hello:

It's been a busy old week. Teaching children is really quite exhausting and time consuming............... the two week Christmas break made me forget how exhausting it is! The children are a real challenge because some of their lives have been quite traumatic so far, but they're a joy to be with (on the whole :D).

Today hasn't been very OS. My two bridesmaids came up today to try on dresses for my wedding in July. Anyway, luckily they both liked the same dress - and it was the first one that they both tried on, just like my dress was the first one that I tried on. My mum was with us and she decided that she'd go and look at "mother of the bride" outfits. She tried one on that was absolutely lovely, but cost slightly  more than she had originally anticipated so she's got to go back in and look at it with my dad/persuade him. It really was a lovely outfit for her though.

My mum treated us all to a pub lunch and I had a lovely smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich - it must have been healthy because of those Omega oils in the salmon :D:D.

Supper tonight for OH and I is veggie sauce with pasta from the freezer, though it's the last of a batch :(. We seem to be doing well with the meal planner and it's just so much easier to look at the plan rather than actually thinking about what to do on the day.

    Take care.

Just come back from shopping picked up loads of bargains .... some stuff i needed now and some to put away in the storecupboard... managed to get loads of reduced stuff including 4 chicken breasts and 5 pork loin steaks for a total of £3 (half price) in Iceland so they have gone in the freezer!! :j

Ended up with £8.85 PIN money from todays shopping alone! And am only 60p over where i should be to succeed in my grocery challenge for this month. :j

Also signed up for a new dvd free trial and bagged myself my own copy of Shirley Valentine to keep! So my mum can have her copy back! hehe. So a pretty good day so far moneywise! :)
