Really tired so went back to bed for a couple of hours and making home made pizza for tea.
Just feel like going straight back to bed but must rouse myself and may go for a short walk later or just think "The heck with it " and go back to bed.
Big hug to everyone feeling under the weather."This site is addictive!"

I'm being very thrifty and eating out the of the freezer and cupboards this month - I was actually shocked to see how much food I had squirreled away, enough to feed a family of five for three weeks I reckon!
Anyway.. I've found some meat which has freezer burn on it. Been in the freezer too long. Is it safe to cook and eat or is it best off in the bin. (that's the not so thrifty part)
Thanks.

Hello everyone, a late post for me today rather than the usual middle of the night attempt. Today was just another day at work, but boy was I wrecked - I had half a night's sleep last night, not managing to get to sleep until around 3.00 am. I looked rough, people kept asking me if I was feeling ill.
I got Tabitha cat's ashes back on Tuesday, and paid for them today. I still can't quite believe she is gone, she'd been in my life for so long. Dylan the kitten has a date in his diary...on 17th January he will be saying bye bye to his sweetbreads (if ya know what I mean). I'll be saying goodbye to £32 for that, but it has to be done and is worth it anyway.
My M&S order arrived yesterday...I got loads of reduced things incl a jacket, a skirt, u'wear, a top and a pair of jeans. Unfortunately the jeans are a challenge to do up. I am wearing Christmas it seems.
I will be having proper Spagetti Bolognese tonight, am really looking forward to it.
Kiwichick...good luck with MIL, keep your cool...
Cheerio everyone, see ya all tomorrow :santa2:.0 -

How long has it been there? If not too bad, I'd be tempted to cut off the "burnt" part & eat the rest! Freezer burn is usually due to bad packaging rather than old age.0 -
Evening everyone! :hello:
I'm typing this whilst watching "Flog It!" Why don't I have things that are worth money like that? Hmmm?
I got my Tesco Healthy Living Club bits today, which includes loads of points. As OH and I are hoping to use up our points on a hire car for our honeymoon. We just about have enough, after squirrelling them away and making the most of extra points vouchers for just breathing!
Although we have tried to stick to not spending much money, our bank balances aren't balancing at the moment. We've had to turn down going to see one of OH's friends this weekend. It would have been nice..... but we can't really justify spending £100 (as it would turn out to be) just for one night of food, beer and travel.
I've done a menu planner based on what we've got in the freezer and cupboards for the next 2 weeks. All we have to buy is fruit, veg, bread and milk in addition to what we've already got! OH is very impressed. Think I might type it up later and stick it on the fridge. OH is going to his staff shop tomorrow (veggies), but I'll have to give him a strict list otherwise we'll end up throwing stuff away!
Supper tonight is sausage, egg and beans. OH will cook that as soon as he gets home from work............. I hope, as I'm starving and I've just had a bar of choccy. Not so good!
Have a good night all!

Hello again
Well, this site IS having major problems again - taken me all day to get back on and now I'm viewing it in a very strange format
Anyway, I'm chilling now after having had some more children from hell here today (if kiwi has the others) My friend turned up at 1pm with her 2, who are a little 'exitable' at the best of times. 3 weeks on chocs and e numbers  - at first they were just noisy which I can cope with, but by the time they left at 3, her DS2 was having the most major strop because he couldn't have my DS2's penguin lolly. He'd also thrown a shoe across the hall and damaged the wallpaper, climbed all over the furniture when told not to, jumped on said chairs, spit at windows, screamed at me for trying to give him a drink of water instead of apple juice.... Her ds1 can't shut a door for toffee and every time he came in, he left the front door open, so lots of wasted heat, he then trailed mud all over carpet, despite being told repeatedly to take his shoes off and shut the door! Also, as they are all so noisy, my 2 try to compete. Put 4 small boys in one room, all screaming as loud as they can and it's no wonder I gave up and sat with my fingers in my ears
Mr TM came home at 4.30 to find me locked inthe kitchen, whispering no-one was allowed to talk to me louder than 32 decibelsIt didn't last - DS2 got a toy piano plus mic for Xmas, so they were all on that too. I resorted to a baileys coffee and banning everything except ITV at 5pm, which I then taped
Tonight, I shall mostly be drowning myself in a very hot, deep bath, which I will add lots of EO's etc too. I may also have a small tinture too
Anyway, tea was lovely and also made rhubarb and strawberry crumble and custard. Have to think what to get out of freezer for tomorrow now, as will have to venture into garage to put more washing on and dry my sheets.(yes, I'll have to use TD now)
kiwi - (((hugs))) maybe your MIL knows exactly what she's doing by not turning up. Don't rise to it and worry yourself stupid - just be nice to her when she does land.
Ok, off to see if I can surf. Better save this missive before this site crashes on me again
Luv, TM0 -
I always suspected that TM was officious! She's posting in triplicate now. Either that or she's shouting ( I was going to put a PMSL smilie here but the site is such a dog today I darn't risk it)
You need to cheer yourself up TM. How about using Mr TM's toothbrush to clean round the taps while you have a soak. What he doesn't know wont...(I was going to put a whistling smilie here but won't for the same reason as before)

Had day from Hell today - still full of cold and not in the mood to celebrate my birthday although might have been better if DH had made a slight effort for it. Decided to take DD (3) and DS(1) to the shops to get out for a while - nightmare I wasn't in the mood and DD certainly wasnt keen on shopping unless everything we looked at was going to be bought for her. Arrived home for a quiet afternoon and neighbour came in with 2 of her DS which turned in to a war zone with all the kids fighting. Thought once they had gone I might actually get 5 mins quiet time but surprise a friend decided to drop by with her DS and DD - our house now looks as though a bomb has gone off in it - never mind she did take round a very nice birthday pressie.
Am going to go to Tesco now before I murder my DD who is refusing to go to sleep (will leave DH with that task) then I think it will be a hot bath and large glass of wine. Tomorrow IS going to be a better dayJoined slimming world Feb 2010
