Morning all :hello:
I am so tired todayI think its the slow down after Xmas and having both DD and OH home for two weeks straight.
Housework to do......nah it can wait another day! :rotfl: I'll finish my dailys (beds are made and the place is just about visitor ready apart from the washing up - my most hated job!) and then I think I'll take a walk up the road to our cheapest/nearest DIY shop :shhh: I've not been to this particular branch for AGES and I'm curious to see what its like as I've never made it up the stairs to the new departments before...plus I want to have a look at the gardening stuff so I can buy some seed compost and price the huge sacks ready for starting work on the garden. I might even look at some more floral seeds as I only have sunflowers and sweetpeas and in a walled garden you need flowers to take the harshness away!
Oh well, off to check the bank account, sort out the seeds and put the earliest planting dates in Outlook to remind me to plant them! But first I think I'll finish making my cup of tea and drink it :doh:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Good morning,
Hugs to all that are poorly or just fed up :grouphug:
DS1 & 2 went back to school today so it's just me and DD. The flat is an absolute TIP, why do I bother??? It's gonna take me all day to clean, tidy and sort out stuff, need to put Xmas stuff away etc and then it will be time to pick them up from school
Anyway, lunch will be some concoction for me and DD and dinner will be pasta with tuna for all of us.
Have got no bog roll in the house so will have to pop out soon!!
Have a good day!Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -

Good Morning everyone,
feel a bit heavy-headed today, joints were giving me gyp during the night, so am feeling a bit tired.
Kiwi good luck with your test,Johanne good luck with your search for a job, and to all of those who feel a bit ugh, it's the january blues. Christmas is over and January streeetches out for ages in front of you.But the good thing is that every night it's getting that little bit lighter so spring will soon be here.
I had a phone call from an old friend and she told me that her OH is off to Finland for 10 days working, evidently where he is going to it's up near the artic circle, and it's dark 24/7 and about 25+ below freezing. Better him than me ,made me feel quite warm. I'm going to her house on Saturday for the day.
Going to make the effort and wander to the shops today, excercise will do me good and I'll make sure that I take my stick with me .Forecast is snow or sleet tomorrow so I'll get some extra veg in just in case.
Hope all on here have a good day, and like me will try not to spend too much cash.
Cheers folks0 -

Morning :hello:
I'm feeling quite upbeat today, cos yesterday I:
Saw my boyfriend for the first time since mid December
Exchanged Christmas pressies with boyfriend (can't say what he got me cos there might be kids reading this forum)
Applied for a new joband was also thrown two additional possible lifelines by a senior colleague who sympathises with me over my boss and wants to help me escape
Stopped in at mini-Sainsburys on way home, bought five gorgeous items of their oh-so-pretty "Tu" jewellery at half price, spending all of £11 in total!!!!! Am now wearing the black beaded necklace with big blue/black pendant, which really sets off today's head-to-toe black fat-day/PMT outfit :rotfl: Attention Penny-Pincher - yes, this is YOUR local mini-Sainsbury's, if you fancy a quick accessories-shopping fix for next to no money then get yourself down there!
Johanne - good luck with your job hunt, and don't worry about the occasional piece of reckless behaviour, especially at your age! I'm not that much older than you and although in some ways I'll never grow up, part of me sort of regrets that I've basically been an old fogey from birth :rotfl: You certainly wouldn't get me out of my PJ's at 2am...
Rage in Eden - LOL at your other half! You're obviously getting him well trained...
Going to a concert tonight, the London Symphony Orchestra playing Mozart and Shostakovich - the ticket works out at only £4.25 after multiple booking discount! Must also work out what I'm next going to cook a batch of (I think it might be something involving a box of chicken thighs from the freezer - perhaps in the SC with a white wine/garlic/onion sauce????
See you later :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Morning,
Well since all Iv'e done is clean for the last couple of days, today after picking up DD from pre-school were going into town to treat ourseves to lunch. It will probably only be something like soup & rolls but me thinks I deserve it!
Quite chilly here this morning so will make a stew with some dumplings for dinner tonight when we return and maybe a nice fruit cake. Want to pick up a Country Cottages book from travel agents as decided not to go abroard this year as it was too much hassle last year what with my health.
Anyway, have a nice day all and keep safe

Hello! A quiet day here as I've lost my voice!:( Looks like charades today then! Sat here drinking my boiled water and lemon hoping for an improvement soon but I guess the family will be happy!
Have to get some meat out to defrost for a stew as the veg box came yesterday. Definately got to use the swede as I was reading in Bombers and Mash that it is full of vitamin C and in the war they had to look for locally produced crops to obtain all their vitamins.
Oh well on with the day then!
(((Hugs))) to PP
Thinking of you kiwichick these things are better behind you than in front of you. Take care. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
