    Good morning all

Got inlaws coming for 2 nights this evening so need to make up the spare bed. They've requested my chilli for tea, served as normal on tortillas with sour cream and guacamole...yummmmmmy!

DW empty - not enough to stick the WM on yet, hoovering to do but that's it for today. Will stick BM on a bit too and might make some cakes, they always get eaten when inlaws are here so it's not a waste.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and hugs to all that need them. PP good luck at hospital.

  • Hello everybody <<said in Dr Rick voice from the Simpsons>> - spent most of last night throwing up........ boo....... however, when I got into work today there is a fax on the machine for one of the nice Docs asking for a reference for me for a job I was interviewed for before christmas!!!!! I was quite blunt in the application and said I wouldn't work for less than £17K so was quite surprised when I got an interview as the scale was £14.5K - £19!!! I should have asked for more <<lol>>. I will keep you all posted........ about time life started getting better!!!

freyaluck - you might want to get in touch with Lillibet about baby deciding to stop sleeping through - I know she was having same problem recently and now thinks she's cracked it.

kiwichick - best of luck with your MIL, I know you've been stressing about it.

    Morning all,
DS3 was up all night being sick, which meant I was right behind him rubbing his back! Poor little poppet made it to the loo every time though so it could have been worse. Normally volunteer at ds1 school on Friday mornings, but now I will have to tackle ironing instead! If I could get myself motivated I could do whole house today, that would really help as I take ds2 football in the morning and he has his 7th birthday party in the afternoon (17 boys at a football party). I will put ds3 in front of nick jr with the sick bowl, have a quick shower, put my face on then spring into action....or maybe i'll have another cuppa and think about this, you shouldnt rush into things!! :coffee:

    Morning all.

Overslept again this morning but I'm blaming the long walk I had in the freezing cold yesterday. I actually made it to the DIY shop but ended up buying some extra-thick draft proofing stuff for around the front door, a small shelving unit for our DVDs/videos (only £10 as it's a "scandinavian pine" style one but better quality - I think you can buy them in Wilkinsons) and a new switch for the downstairs hall light itself. You see the hall is JUST big enough for the frontdoor to open, and we've found that the light at the top of the stairs is powerful enough for everyday use. The only time the bottom light needs to be on is if I am de-molding or doing something at night, so (when we moved in) my dad fitted a switchable light fitting - the kind you get on a lamp - and it was fine, until just before Xmas when the switch snapped. Ever since BOTH lights have been on and its starting to really get on my nerves. OH will swap it over either tomorrow or Saturday as he's taller and a sort of qualified electrician, or at least in Theatres he could be counted as one :shhh:

    Plans for today are:
    • Take garlands down from ceiling and bin them - wastefull I know, and not very oldstyle BUT I ripped a couple when I was putting them up anyway so they're currently held together with staples PLUS with how tempremental our ceilings are (sometimes they're real easy to put things up/down and other times they don't want to know!) they'll probably end up ripped anyway :o
    • Take all the Xmas cards down, write "Received list", cut up the ones I can recycle into more cards, and put the rest in a bag ready to go to the recycling point (probably end up going to Tescos for that but I want a smooze around their housewares department anyway ;) )
    • Tidy desk area. Which also includes
      • Excel worksheets to do :
        • Monthly budget spreadsheet for ease of reference
        • "Calender" spreadsheet with dates for seed sowing indoors, outdoors and harvesting.
      • Filing
      • Revised to-do list for this weekend
      • Have a smooze at prices of pressurewashers at Argos, B&Q etc
    • Put draftproofing around frontdoor and degrease & regrease the door itself (we're having problems with it sticking due to the damp weather - it happened last year as well!)
    • Wash dishes
    • Sort out washing and maybe do a load or two?
    • Finish making beds - they're currently turned back and airing ;)
    • Start on the ironing since I still haven't done it!
    • Work something out for tea - was thinking of something fishy since its Friday but can't think of anything to have with scampi, the prawns are still in the freezer and I really don't fancy tuna.....just looked in the cupboard while getting teabags out and found a tin of salmon in there, might make fishcakes
    • Put various things on to charge - currently my mobile, batteries for cordless drill etc, maybe I will charge my PDA and start using it again
Johanne - GET SOME SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p:rotfl:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
