    Morning All

Kiwichick: ((Hugs)) to you and your hubby, as others have said make sure he gets his neck checked out at Hospital. It makes me angry that we are subsidising these idiots car insurance  .

    PP: Glad you've had a good sleep :D .

Graham: Glad it went well with your lady friend (god I'm starting to sound like my MIL  )

To all those who are potty training, I dont want to hear any horror stories that will be me in 18 months time :rotfl:

I'm feeling pretty yucky again today, hopefully it will have subsideded before I go to work tomorrow. Not doing much again, need to nip to tesco for some milk for DD and a new toddler cup as she dropped hers this morning and cracked the lid. Then going to MIL for tea so no cooking :j Apart from that need to get everybodies stuff ready for work etc.

Forgot to say my new Avatar is DD having a piece of HM bread with HM jam on it

    Have a good day everyone

  • hi PP,
I'm afraid southern chippys aren't a patch on the real thing :)
mind you i have to try and get used to Yorkshire chippys - they close at dinner time and don't do gravy. the one thing i miss about Bolton is saturday afternoon chips peas and gravy. gorgeous.

hope you are feeling better soon

Have two below-par mini-men in the house this weekend.

D11yo has a hacking cough and a cold but is still chirpy and full of beans.

D10yo has been up the past two nights with a high temp. (Friday night was sick with it).

Unfortunately, I hadn't checked the Medicine Box for some time ( :o ) so spent a bit of yesterday between nursing shifts going over what I had, what I need to top up on and researching, how best to dispose of out of date stuff , best place to keep the thing in the first instance!

Here are some links that I came across while researching, if anyone is interested:

Checklist for Medicine Box - I've printed off their list (with tick-y boxes ;) ) which I'll use as a shopping list, but also keep a copy inside the lid of the box.
Airing out the medicine box (includes a bit on Winter meds/symptoms/what to use )
Where to Dispose of safely - this has an audio bit to listen to and relates to Tesco Pharmacy.

B: Apple, Cashew and Cinnamon Bread toasted
    L: Roast Lamb with trims.
    D: Chicken and Corn Chowder

    Best wishes to all.

RacyRed- Yes, I agree, waking up to fresh bread (especially squeaky's sultana and cinnamon bread) really can make the morning worth getting up for. Don't work too hard.

kiwichick - hope you have a successful baking day and the dk's tire enough to sleep through and give you a peaceful nights sleep.

Updated: OMG!! Sorry to read about the car! ((HUGS)) Hope DH goes to get his neck checked out straightaway! Check your insurance docs and see if the car seats are covered - but, if the elderly gent accepts responsibility, you should be able to claim those back from *his* insurance. Find out for sure, in these circumstances, knowledge really is power!!

jamie - Enjoy your pamper night tonight! I stumbled across some more freebie satchets when I cleared the 'dump' cupboard yesterday which I've added to my pamper basket. I'm saving my pamper night for Tuesday because I shall be away from home most of the day and think I may need it ;)

catowen - hope you enjoy your pamper day! If you have set yourself a 'sales budget' before going it should help to not overspend, hope you get those last minute bargains.

apple - Ooh, bet the hair cut looks lovely. A programme about Primark was on the TV a few weeks ago and it can be a great place for bargains (although I'm guilty of not really going there to check things out very often :o ) Hope you find some great buys.

PP - 7 HOURS!! :T :T :T Great bargains from Hennes. Hope you enjoy a nice time out later today.

Learning - ((hugs)) I timed all potty training to occur during the warmer months to coincide with gardening. Persevere - I know it can be very challenging; the calmer *you* are the easier it will be.

Zziggi - those jeans sound great at £1.75 - hope they fit DD ok and she's pleased with them. Do you have any farm shops near to you? Cheaper than Tesco's for fruit and veg., but they don't sell jeans :(:(

charlotte - it's great that you've found your dog a lovely new home. Good luck finding an alarm that suits your needs and pocket.

smokey112 - the bread must have been wonderful if your DSD enjoyed it :T :T :T Like you, I'm using up veggies from the fridge, but I'm just using mine for stock and freezing. Some of the stock will make a nice Veg Broth though so you've inspired me today :D:D

bummiebabe - hope you managed to get a better nights sleep tonight or maybe even a catnap while DS2 is at a party (?) .

scuzz - :T Wow, shaving off 20mins from last week is amazing - especially when you are feeling unwell! That is brilliant!! :T Take a little time to recoup though, with the marathon only four weeks away you won't want to burn up all your reserves.

Jo - That's a great idea to batch make some soup in the SC and freeze down into individual portions for later :T Before you hit the shops, have a quick check in your cupboards to see if you can draw up a quickie menu plan from there.

suzy g - your energy shines through your post :D Enjoy your walk.

FunkyFairy - Did you win the quiz? Hope the wine hasn't left you feeling a touch hungover.

TM - Duck eggs are sooooo delish! They make the most fantastic Sponge cakes too (and give them a nice, natural yellow look too. ) Good luck with your organising/filing.

skystar - as well as printing off those recipes, will you be testing any? Nice to read that you had a lovely evening with friends last night and the caravan sounds a great deal. Wishing you all the best in convincing your DH - I'm sure he won't take too much convincing.

    Graham S - :j That's GREAT news!! :T Enjoy your lunch ;):D

joannasmum - hope you feel better soon. Love your avatar! Enjoy your tea at MIL's .

taplady - Happy 16th Birthday for your DS. Hope your all have a wonderful day celebrating :D

    Good morning all

KC - Hope that your hubby is ok and that you get sorted quick.

Been a decent week for us. Sold dh accident damaged car and they collected it tuesday. Found a bargain car for dh. 4 year old Brava with only 8k miles fsh etc for £1800. Lovely car - just needs a good scrub which is why we got it for that price. Sold one of the camping trailers we had yesterday too so paid mil the money back that she let us borrow to get the car so we are now straight. Just need my car to go now so that we have some credit in the bank.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

Thanks to all for your hugs for DH.

I have convinced him to go to A&E as his neck was getting more painful, cant turn his head and his knees are now sore too. I'm not suprised having seen the state of the car! Burnt out cause it caught fire, complete writeoff.

I dont know where we stand with insurance claims as it was a company car which the firm leased from somewhere. His boss will not be too happy as it was only serviced and had 4 new tyres fitted on friday  .

DH did have the presence of mind to get names and addresses from 2 witnesses, thank goodness. Bloke came down the hill approaching the roundabout on the right hand side of the road and then proceeded to go right around the roundabout! I do feel for him though as he was an old boy coming to visit his daughter. I hope hes OK.

GRAHAM - FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!! REALLY PLEASED FOR YOU.
