Managing to sneak a go on here today at work - pretty quiet here and I have some admin things to do so I'm justified typing on the computer.
Not feeling 100% and neither is OH - difference is he can have a 'work from home' day *day off* and I can't, so struggling on here, only 3 hours left then it's the weekend :j
Brought my lunch in again -that's everyday this week :j but had to pop for post office for OH and ended up getting some chocolate.
Got my contract extended for a month this week so jobhunting isn't so much of an issue again, trying to cancel direct debits relating to teaching things, cancel subscriptions etc as I won't be teaching in the near future and need to save as much money as possible - just writing a letter now.
Going to make a fish pie tonight - first timeso hope that goes well. Need to do washing ,tidying up that sort of thing too, nothing very exciting.
CQ - your new place sounds great, and brilliant news about your DS.
PP - hope you enjoyed the cinema
Vicky - hope you enjoyed your beauty treatments, I had my nails manicured for the first time ever in a nail bar the other week - very nice, and going to see how often I can justify it.
Hope everyone is having a good dayInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98

Me again
Had my beauty treatments. All very relaxing - even for waxing!
Got a couple of books through www.readitswapit.co.uk and sent 3 off! Got a couple more books from Oxfam too. At some stage I need to find time to read all of them! Got some packs of Christmas cards cheaply in Oxfam too for next Christmas.
The town where we now live has a literature festival (get us!) in March, which seems to be quite reknowned. They have people like Joanna Trollope, Roy Strong, PD James and Louis De Bernieres coming to speak - and promote books - which is all quite exciting. I can't go to see Joanna Trollope (bit gutted, but it's a rugby match that I need to see) but I have booked OH and I to hear Louis de Bernieres speak and play music. Don't really think that it's OH's scene, but hey, a bit of culture is needed in his life. I've also booked tickets for us to see the film of "Pride and Prejudice" at the local cinema club in April. I've already seen the film once with my friend, but persuaded OH that he really WOULD enjoy it because it's got Kiera Knightley in it.
My lunch was pasta with a veggie sauce that I've cooked up. The rest of the vat is cooling down and will be frozen for meals for weeks to come.
Right, I'd better go and get organised!

Mr P - you are on a written warning :rotfl:
I'll have you know I'm a black belt at the OS martial art of tea-towel whipping. Add into that being tied to the bannisters by aged towels torn into strips (yay - I have a use for them) and have neat vinegar dripped into your eyes using recycled grape bags and I may eventually forgive you for such a slanderous comment (or is it libel? I'm tired
)
Ok - I'm off to re-adjust me rollers, put on me clogs and put t' whippet in t' barrow when I go fer to collect nippers frum skool.
I'll deal with ya later!!0 -

Big hug to everyone who needs one.
Went to get eyes tested and nearly had heart attack when I found out how much the lenses would be!
Still, I need new glasses and will be wearing them every day so I am convincing myself to bite the bullet.
Tea will be slimming world chips with eggs and beans.
Have mountain of ironing still to tackle."This site is addictive!"

((hugs)) to all who are unwell and sound like they need them!Day got off to a funny start - d11yo got up and said he felt a bit sick, felt to see if he was feverish (nope), I didn't react when he wolfed down a bowl of porridge
then came uniform time ... now he was feeling *really* queasy - or rather really-queasy-with-attidude I know there are a lot of bugs going around so I was keeping an eye without obviously keeping an eye. The nearer to leaving, the queasier he became. I hadn't seen any evidence of any upset so I just carried on as normal (meanie that I am) then, it came out .....................................
... he had rugby today and he isn't a rugger person. So I packed him off to school with a consoling hug and a cheery
Turns out, rugby was cancelled:rotfl:
No baking today (phew!) it's been one of those days where everytime I start something, I get sidetracked and then my sidetracking gets sidetracked and then I can't remember what it was I had begun and so I've ended up at this time, feeling like I've done heaps and not stopped at all - but for the life of me I can't see that I've actually achieved *anything*Well, except making the beds and 1 washload - does that count?
CQ - Great news on ds's discharge! :T with the house and the decorating, it sounds like things are going your way for a change - it's wonderful to read!

Lillibet - my eldest was never much of a sleeper during the dayIs he sleeping better at night?
Mr Proctalgia - Oooh, hope you really have "bagged it" that would be great news for you! Fingers X'd on your behalf. In the meantime - have fun with the sausages
Michelle - hope the visit from the boss wasn't too stressful ((hugs))
MATH - Enjoy your Sunday on the coast. Good luck with mini mathlett and the eye test.
TM - LOL sounds like a fun night (and a fun flour fight too!) Ooh, jam tarts - haven't made those in a while ... I'll have to put that on my To Do list for next week I think - ta for reminder!
Yorkielass - that good news on the contract front, take the pressure off a bit. Hope the fish pie is a success.
Mrsbojangles ((((((hugs))))))) I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. It's useless telling you not to worry, but, perhaps put together a pamper basket for yourself and spend some time indulging yourself to ease the stress while you await the results.
elona - yes, glasses can be a real dent in the budget! But, if you're having to wear them on a daily basis, then you need to get the right ones, obviously. Perhaps the ironing won't feel so daunting in the meantime if you iron w/out any glasses on?
ivyleaf - I read it!
Take care one and all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Queenie - thank you to take time out for a personal reply
MrsBo - please take it easy, and try to eat something - it's no good for the baby if you make yourself ill.
Lillibet - my 4mo old nephew hardly sleeps at all during the day (if that helps). Every baby is different.
My boss came, was very nice. He brought me a bottle of wine and said not to go back to work until i was feeling up to it. He even suggested had a holiday to try to recuperate. I'd worried all day about his visit - what a relief.
Have a nice evening all.
