Me too!!:DI'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0

'morning everyone :hello:
Was up in the night with an iffy tum, I'm still feeling queasy now ... so I've decided not to pass on my germs to everyone else and I've taken the day off sick. I'm sat here hugging a hot water bottle. Hope it doesn't take over my weekend ... I've too many OS things I want to do.
Breakfast: HM 5 seed bread & HM marmalade
Lunch: HM celery soup (apprentice tycoon's recipe - it's wonderful)
Dinner: I'm doing something with the turkey wings I've just taken out of the freezer for OH (probably a BBQ sauce) ... I'll probably have soup again given the delicate nature of my tum
OH set and lit the woodburning stove for me before he went to work ... so the kitchen is lovely and warm and I've put the washing machine on. Thought I'd potter around MSE this morning and this afternoon I may even treat myself to watching a film on DVD (though I'm likely to fall asleep given my disturbed night).
Now, on I go to reading all these lovely posts ...
... have a lovely OS day everyone :hello:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning All
Busy day again today, off to SIL for abit of a gossip this morning while DD and niece amuse each other. Then this afternoon I want to get through the cleaning. I decluttered our bedroom yesterday so can give it a good clean today. One load of washing done another one at the moment to go on the airer. Just gave yesterdays dryed stuff a blast in the dryer as its all DD and like to make sure its aired going to put it away in a minute.
Breakie: Eggs and Bacon
Lunch: Tuna salad
Tea: Burgers on Brown buns
Its a red day today.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Hiya to everybody,
I had a lovely morning tea this morning. We all enjoyed the cake. Another lot came through our house this morning. That's three this week. The real estate rang us up at 7.45am and said he would be out in 1/2 hour. It's 8pm here and I have to pack & make our packed lunches for our trip away tomorrow morning. Will get back late Sunday so hope you all have a lovely weekend. If you can't be good, be careful.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Gooooooooodddddd Morning Ol' Stylers :j
Guess who is feeling a whole lot better this morningI'm still stuffed up BUT I actually feel like a human being again. Someone on here said the best thing to do when your feeling ick is to pamper yourself... so I did
One head given a good scrub and condition, eyebrows plucked and my face steamed followed by a long hot steamy lavender and something (Asda's own bathsoak) bubblebath later (which included me falling asleep for at least 30 minutes  ) has resulted in me having the best nights sleep I've had in weeks :j:j This morning I've even left my hair down as I think it's time I gave my scalp a rest from my hair being pulled back in a tight bun. Think I'll have another bath tonight and then go to bed, after "The Gardeners' Year" but then again "World Poker Tour" is on ITV4 tonight
Plans for today are basically to do washing up (OH seems to be allergic to washing up during the week but kicks me out the kitchen on a Saturday morning so he can wash up), maybe I'll do some ironing or some washing but I haven't made up my mind yet. One thing I do need to do is sort out my menu plan for the month until my next pay day (approx 1st March due to weekends) and see if I can do it for £120 in total  I was going to do quick fish pie for tea tonight but I've just remembered I've got chicken drumsticks in the fridge defrosting so I'll be digging out a sauce mix later. Will have carrots and mash with it  Also need to apply for another 0% card but need to see if I can find one that I can BT to from a HSBC and Natwest cards. Also need to pay OH's credit card. Isn't it always the same, you think "I haven't got that much that needs doing today, but I must remember to do that.. oh, and this, oh and theres that as well!" :rotfl:
Right I'm off to see what CC are good for BT ATM :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Happy birthday to Competitionscafe and WELCOME to Dobie!!!!
Shouldn't really be on here cos there's such a lot to do. Our office is getting moved around over the weekend so we've all got to pack our desks up (so at least we get to wear jeans to work for once!) and I've got two really important pieces of work which MUST get done today. Because of the office move we've been told we have to be out on time this afternoon so I'm off to the hairdresser after work.
P-P, have a great time at the cinema. I hardly ever used to go but these days I've been going once or twice a month - there have been a lot of fimls out lately that I've wanted to see. Still haven't got round to seeing Narnia, and the other one I want to see at the moment is "A C0ck and Bull Story" wih Steve Coogan. Also could you please PM me the details of the college that does cheap haircuts and massage? I go to Salon 108 in Bexleyheath at the moment which is lovely but it ain't cheap (I have better things I could be spending money on!) and if the college is any good I might consider going there in future. Do they do other beauty treatments too?
Boyfriend is on his way into London to move into his new flat, and I'll be going over there on Sunday  It actually makes me feel like a real OS traitor to be going out with somebody who can afford a flat in a nice part of Central Londonand I've got a deep-down fear that if I ever move in with him and/or marry him, you'll all stop speaking to me and I'll be forced to leave Old Style in disgrace
. However the fact is that despite being a high earner he's quite useless with money, and I've been a really good influence on him already - he emailed me the other day all excited cos he'd just managed to save a fortune on his home insurance by going through a comparison site
CQ - fantastic news about your eldest coming out of hospital today :T
Catch you later :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Hello everyone,
Had hoped that DD would go to sleep in her own bed last night, but when i went to bed there she was fast asleep in mine!!!! Then its, do i wake her up to get her in her own bed, knowing she will be back in a few hours or do i leave her??? Well, i left her, hoping i would have more chance of sleep if i know she isnt coming in later, but as normal, didnt work out that way, never mind, used to it now!!!!
Well, day started a lot better than yesterday, WM just finished, just need to hang it on the airer, DS and DD safely at school, collected the few bits i needed at Waitrose (no mean feat with 3 little ones with me!!!!) and the 3 childminding ones happy after having their toast and juice.
Unfortunatly, the BM is definatly broken, i am gutted, but might hit the last few days of sales in town at the weekend to see if i can get a cheap one to replace it.
Breafast - last of ther HM bread and jam
Lunch - HM soup
Dinner - HM stew
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day,
Catherine x0 -

Great to hear you are feeling better Nicki!
:grouphug: to all those still feeling poorly or going down with things. It is that time of year isn't it? I second whoever suggested the pampering, much better than chastising oneself for not getting on with things. Harder I know if you are looking after sproglets at the same time but go easy on yourselves!
I am enthused by your evident enjoyment in your new home CQ. You are inspiring me to get cracking on this place when the plasterer finishes today. Just hope it keeps the water out this time as I start to lose the will when everything gets ruined every year. As you say there is always a lot that can be done without spending money in the garden Usually all the hard stuff lol!
 at your bf Jo! Sounds like you are making everything very comfy for him. Maybe he could do the same for you and give you a break?
pp we always take our own goodies into the cinema. Can't afford it otherwise!
Welcome to Dobie :j nice to see you here. Have fun in Barcelona, I look forward to hearing about it on Monday.
Think it will be menu planning for me today, plaster dust everywhere so no point in housework. Also house freezing as the plasterers leave the door open all day. They then complain about the cold!
Hands and brain are a bit numb so sorry if I have forgotten anyone or anything. Have a lovely day all.0
