My sis says the best thing about going home (she lives in Ohio) is dropping a dress size in a day between Blighty and the States.

Hands up anyone who thinks TM has been a bit rash tossing out those 'nearly new' towels? I fear that we may have a wastrel in our midst:eek: Quick CQ sprinkle her with vinegar while I chant the preface of the bero book to expunge her of her crimes against all that is Old style. :rotfl:

good afternoon  haven't been around for a few days very much, been very busy and things aren't great at home so haven't really felt like posting, OH and I have been getting annoyed with each other about completely different things and it all boiled over last night so I'm totally knackered now at work, taking me forever to do anything today :o

Been quite good OS wise, made a sausage casserole the other night and food shopping contains lots of fruit and veg and lots of things to make (although it was our weekly ready meal curry treat last night :o)

Had a good shop in boots too - got the free gym ball from the quick grabbit thread and on the way out found one of the boots hair care voucher on the floor that someone had obviously dropped :j , add that to 70p out of vending machines on sunday and I'm not doing too bad.

Must get on as it's the end of my lunch break, top priority tonight is defiently to do some decluttering before OH kills me - wish it was car boot season now

Hope you're all having a good day

smokey - only 15 years old? :D I notice that that scally-wag MATH has dared to suggest my towels are anything more than 12 years old. Truly - I AM only 23. (Oh crumbs - that makes my towels older than me then :( :rotfl: ) There are only so many towels a girl can keep for hair colouring jobs and if you saw my airing cupboards as well as the bags of old towels already squirrelled away for gardening /animals/ in case of leaks emergencies, you'd wonder why there hasn't been a national shortage of towelling over the past few years :D:D

Anyway - been to 'Bubbles' to let DS2 run some of his energy off, while I sat there with a cup of instant and some celeb mags courtesy of the establishment. I'm sure I feel so much better for knowing that Posh has admitted to a boob job and that Katie Price has 'killed off' Jordan so she can be a doting wife and mother. Wonder if she has a slow cooker tho? :D

It's flippin' cold here, so have turned the heating up and will be having a cup of something warming in a minute. Need to run the vac round (DS2 thought spreading breadcrumbs around the study last night would be a great idea  ) Also need to get on with my pie making and might even try something new off the recipe thread - possibly some biscuits. Will have a mooch in a while when I've thawed my hands out on me cuppa. Just had a chicken butty - very nice too. Will finish my fruit salad and have some of that too. I know some of the vits start to disappear when they've been cut and peeled, but if there's a big bowlful in the fridge, I'd be more tempted to eat it.

Right-ho, keep warm everyone (unless you're cooking in Australia, then keep cool :D)

MATH - I prostrate myself at your feet, in a suitably muddy puddle, whilst you administer whatever punishment you see fit for my daring to suggest I ........(gulp) "get rid of old towels" (gulp) And if you suggest using the aforementioned towels as whips, I shall have to seriously rethink your motives and position as Alpha male (jointly with squeaky) on OS.

Oh, and CQ - while your sprinkling me with vinegar - on me 'ead girl - it's good for my hair :D (see, how's about that for not wasting anything)

    Afternoon everyone!

My mince/stew was lovely last night. The trouble with working until 5.30 pm (especially when you're not used to it) is that you find yourself doing house work at stupid times, I was cleaning floors, drains and toilets at 9.30 last night.

Today is quite a busy day, I need to pop home after work at 3pm put some baked potatoes in, pick up kids, drag kids kicking and screaming to shops, eat, take ds 1 to cubs, go for a run then creep to my parents because I forgot to take round a wedding anniversay card.

I've been taking my old towel, probably the same age as TM, to the local dogs shelter, so does that count as throwing out or just donatingto a good cause? :j

getcarter - what a good idea. I shall enquire of local animal shelters etc to see if they can be used there :D

(Then maybe MATH will let me out of the doghouse, as it were) :rotfl:

AAAAARGH. Celeb mags. Such compulsive reading, and such complete tosh :D

I noticed last week that EVERY SINGLE GOSSIP MAG had a picture of Angelina Jolie on the front. This week it's Posh saying how much she likes being super skinny (on one mag) and how she does it (on another).

Still, about an hour ago I booked a hair appointment for tomorrow evening after work (as soon as we got told we would be forced to go home no later than 5 tomorrow due to our office move :D) so no doubt I shall spend that time being enthralled by the antics of Jennifer Aniston post-Brad (a "revenge pregnancy, apparently), puzzling over exactly why Sienna Miller is famous in the first place, and wondering why people watch Celebrity Big Brother...

And enjoying reading it all and thinking what a good thing I can read all this twaddle without paying for it :D

Does this count as Virtual Pin Money? As if you didn't go to the hairdressers, you'd perhaps be forced to buy the mags?!?

Tell me about it. I often don't get home until 8/9pm, thinking I might have a relaxing remainder of the evening, then at about 11:30pm my brain wakes up and sends me into domestic goddess mode, and I'll scoot around doing tidying, cleaning, doing the accounts and sending important emails until 1am or later - and that's on a work night! Don't ask me why I always get super-motivated at midnight, but it's just the way I am :rotfl:
