Hello to all on OS.
Goodness what a lot of illness about! Hope you all get lots of rest and recover quickly. Makes me glad that DS had his MMR recently, DH took him down for the tetanus boost so nurse grabbed him and delivered all the shots she thought he should have! We didn't have it done when he was little as he seemed to have some bowel symptoms which made us concerned he would have problems from the MMR. I realise Kiwichick that it is not 100% protection though so your DD was unlucky unfortunately.
Washed some delicates at last, my stuff always ends up last in the queue for the WM.
Cannelllini beans soaking and chicken marinating for a stew tonight. Leftover HM pizza for lunch. Also need to bake some goodies or everyone will think we need to go out shopping because there is NOTHING to eat in this house! The fruit bowl is taking a ransacking but can't complain about that. Children are growing like mad at the mo.
Keep slogging away holstar it is all worth it in the end. All the same reading your post does make me glad I am not doing any right now!
If I was burning things like that Lillibet it would mean a certain time was drawing near, also heralded by accidentally cutting myself and bumping into things! Hope your run of luck changes for the better.
Happy Birthday Apprentice Tycoon! I always thought that 50 was a good excuse for a party.
Filing was terrible yesterday and still stuff from the crisis months of last year to sort out. I am only okay with this stuff if I can keep on top of it and DH won't touch it unfortunately. His job is to lose things! Consolation was that I found £82 of Clubcard vouchers, downside that I missed out on earning a lot more points.
CQ I hope your landlord pays up as it is becoming a bit too common for them to weasel their way out of this. They have to expect some normal wear and tear surely?
Have a good day all.0 -
Back again
Good news is that DD2 doesn't have mumps as her glands have gone back down but she's got a nasty chest and throat and ear infection....Dr couldn't see in her throat yesterday and didn't want to pull her around too much. DD1 does have raging mumps tho and there's not a thing he can do apart from keeping her well dosed on painkillers...They're both lying on the sofas watching telly and don't even have the energy to argue!
Ironing is done, WM all done and empty, TD still going and every thing is drying well...The sun's just come out too - first time in ages.....pity it's so cold!
I've just sat and organised my reciepe collection, sorted them into sections and printed them all off so that I can laminate them later....my other copies were getting a bit torn. Got a spare A4 folder sitting here to put them all in but will see if I can get DD's to cut some "foody" type pics out of magazines in a bit to decorate it for me......they normally love crafty type projects.
HM soup for lunch - it's gammon and veg - can see now it's all defrosted. With HM bread
Dinner - Turkey pie I made yesterday with mash and fresh runner beans and carrots.
Will grab a bottle of wine out of the loft and shove it in the fridge for tonight too......(we did have a sneaky one during the week) Considering we used to drink a bottle a night we've done well for only the 1 during the week and the bottle of champagne last week end... Well I'm impressed anyway......DH is still sure that a glass of wine would help him relax..."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Just spent a riveting morning cleaning the bathroom, vacuum cleaning, dusting and changing sheets (yawn). Then I went to the local coach office and booked a coach ticket for my visit to my boyfriends next weeknd. Then I made a pizza so it's ready to be cooked tonight.
My boyfriend will be here at about 5pm tonight and the children are staying at my mum and dads for the weekend :j :j so we might go out for a drink tonight. If we do it will be the first time we've been out as a couple on our own for 3 months :eek:2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Hello everyone and Happy Birthday AT.
I have the day off today because we are going to Jersey for the weekend! (OH's 40th Birthday pressie) and it was also DD1's 10th Birthday yesterday. So a bit of a mad week this week, with lots of unexpected, last minute visitors, I have not managed to do half of what I had planned.
I have been to Aldi and done the shopping, stripped our bed and the WM is on its second load, just need to load up the TD as need to get it all washed and dried asap.
The house is looking like it has been turned upside down and shaken so I need to whizz round with the duster and the vac and restore some order, do a spot of ironing and pack. OH has a half day so Im expecting him home any minute, will try and persuade him to make DD's day by fetching them from school.
I now have my decent/cheapy washing powder, but no soda crystals as yet, so cant try this with my washing, also bought some 19p malt vinegar from Aldi for the fabric conditioner. Will ring my mum later and ask her to look out for the soda crystals for me.
I also forgot to get some cream to try the butter making, which looks like fun, I need to read the O/S cleaning products thread and STILL havent got around to meal planning. When we are back from Jersey I am going to have to take myself in hand I think.
I'm already looking forward to a good catching up session on MSE when we get back!

Afternoon all.
Before I forget HAPPY BIRTHDAY APPRENTICE TYCOON! _party_ _party_ Sounds like you've had some lovely presents! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Oh dear, what a lot of poorly posters and little ones there are at the moment! Hope you and yours will be better extremely soon!
I haven't posted on here for a little while, so WELCOME to all the new people! (beware, this forum is addictive...!)
Have done a bit of ironing, but will be a "rest day" today methinks. Just got some veg (carrots, onions and spuds) out of the freezer - they were left over when I made a lamb casserole in the SC the other week and I wasn't sure what to do with them. Then last night it occurred to me that I could blitz them in the FP and make lamb (or at least, lamb-flavoured)soup for a couple of lunches. As I'm still new to OS i was pleased to come up with a OS solution!
Talking of spuds, Lillibet I love your new picture of Spud! It makes me smile back every time I look at it, bless him. :A
A bit weary today because yesterday I went to visit a friend in hospital. I rang beforehand to make sure she was still in there, and Main Reception said she was, so I chose a few of my books I thought she might enjoy and set off. When I got up to the ward, they said she'd gone home the day before! When I was coming home, the one bus that goes from the hospital to near my home (as opposed to having to use 2 buses) sailed straight past me, and as there's only one of those every half-hour I had to do it the long way. The first bus was heaving with schoolchildren, so I couldn't face the second one and walked the rest of the way home - too tired to cook dinner so we had to have a takeaway - not at all OS! Oh well, at least I used up a few extra calories (which the takeaway will have put straight back on again LOL)
Best wishes everyone

Tip for the day:Don't let children play unsupervised with your bean bag!!Last night, it was fun watching DS2 run and jump on the bean bag. However, this morning, DS1 obviously joined in and there must also have been some pulling and tugging of said bean bag.
So, today I shall mostly be vacuuming polysyrene beads up!!
:rotfl: - not!0 -
:rotfl: Thanks for that,OH and I were obviously right when we decided against bean bags for the kids.0
