I don't think Nationwide took any Government money did they?
I have no idea. They are all hypocrites, either way. The point I am making is that banking deserves the appalling reputation it now has. Yet N/W still has the gall to act all high and mighty whilst using the money I have paid in, and give me public humiliation in return. That is bad enough, government money or not, I am hardly going to go and check whether they had any money from the government when I have a life.

You seemed very sure when you said...
they have so much of our money from the government now anyway
...I was just checking I hadn't missed anything.

Don't these idiots realise that customer service is important, and if you upset a customer once that is usually the end? maybe they just don't care, as they have so much of our money from the government now anyway..

The Nationwide did not have any government funding, probably because they have been more selective in their choice of customers.

When I applied for a Flexaccount with them I was declined even though they never searched any of my credit files. Very odd.

Nope I was just stating the obvious, the Nationwide have not taken any government funding, despite what Alice suggested, probably because they have been selective in choosing their customers, I don't think that makes them " idiots ".

I've just receive my form to sign and they've given me the 07-02-46 sort code - which accepts faster payments!

I just applied again and I put main account (but I will not change my salary, I can't as I work for RBS - all they do is give you a letter to give your employers re: having a new account, right?) but happy for them to move DDs, and did not request an OD this time.... It now says my application has been submitted for processing, no offer of debit card yet though :(
