Heir_2_Hesjane wrote:Just phoned Olympus to check the catalogue status of the E1 model. Apparently Apple have gotten to them... they say that this model is now obsolete and has been superceeded by the E300.
that is just silly. The E1 is a professional model with metal casing.. the E300 is a budget SLR with plastic casing. Both cameras are still available along with the E500..0 -
bad-head-day wrote:I just phoned up & spoke to a lovely young lady (name with-held), here are some points from my notes:
(name)
(I asked about my cancelled camera order)
-gave web order number
(checking - "ah yes the olympus")
"There was a problem with it with the order management team"
"No necessary refund as it hasn't been sent/so no funds taken"
About 1000 orders
I was asked to reorder if it becomes available again.
Then I asked to keep my current order open & them send it when it's available.
(on hold for a short time)
Her supervisor said (to her) I should get an email within a couple of days to let me know when I should receive it.
Me - "Thank you very much (her name)!"
(love that accent by the way)
really? that sounds promising..0 -
It ain't going to happen...did any of us really think it would?
What annoys me is the fact that they haven't just said, look we are sorry we made a mistake and held their hands up.The way they have handled it shows comtempt for their customers IMHO.
I even rang up Friday morning and was assured by the sales rep that my order would be shipped Friday it looks like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing at Apple.0 -
kinster wrote:Apple probably delayed this email as they didn't think it was that important. Why do they need to be 'apologetic' and be on their hands and knees begging for forgiveness? If you don't like it don't buy from them again
I seen a offer for a camera and paid.I get told it will be shipped the next day .Then i get a email 5 days later saying NOTHING about the money they took from me.As the product is no longer available and will soon be cancelled. In the meantime they change their T&Cs and say they are not made anymore. There has been NO mention from them about the item wrongly priced so we all assume it was a genuine offer to students. It was allso just after christmas [january sales].0 -

nothing has been mentioned about the money which it what gets my back up!0 -
Well I just phoned them. First off - the customer support assistant said that I should receive an email in the next hour or so updating me on this order. I asked her if she meant the cancellation email and she said "oh yes - that one". So I then proceeded to ask her when the camera would be back in stock. She took my contact details (phone numbers) and said she would phone back after she has checked with her line manager.
Here's watching this space...Truly great madness can not be achieved without significant intelligence0 -

and the fact that the camera is no longer made anymore could mean that apple had gotten cheaper stock0

Just filled in the contact form on the watchdog website - gotta be worth a try!
Anyone remember the 19.99 printers/memory sticks from index?0 -

..... A technology company without e-mail support - whatever next!
Seems that Apple must be under strict legal advice as there are loathe to commit anything in writing... must be time for the legal experts on MSe to take over!0
