KTjazz - the great life overhaul

Hello everyone!
Back again for another update.
Well, I still haven't been able to pick up my letter from my parents yet. Hopefully get it tonight.
I am probably about 2/3 of the way through the 'Great paperwork shred of 2008'... (3 poly bags of shredded material and counting - anyone near me keep rodents?!)
I've become rather fond of my shredder now... I've shredded just about everything. My favourite moment so far was shredding all my take away menus!!
Tonight I hope to get that all finished and dig my living room out from under the piles of paper it is under just now.
I'm going to Edinburgh with OH tomorrow! He's taking me ice-skating (Miss P, another reason for trying so desperately to find a skating smiley...) I'm all excited.
Oh, one last thing before I go. I have a story all those who have changed theirs ways will love. I was walking through a shopping centre doing some christmas shopping when I was stopped by a very lovely girl who drew me in by giving me a free sample of dead sea stuff soap (Hmm! Free stuff! I thought) We got chatting and she then got into her hard sell, asking to see my hands (which are dry and bitten to bits - the skin not the nails) she started to buff one of my nails promising a miracle... sure enough I had the shiniest nail you've ever seen on the index finger of my right hand. She then passed me the buff to show me how easy it was...
She tried to sell me the set. it cost £30 for a hand lotion, nail oil and standard nail buff block. I talked her down to £20 then walked away.
I went next door to boots and bought a nail buff for £2 and recreated the look at home, very proud of myself!

Well done you!!
I used to always get suckered in by these people. Now I look the other way and have a very prim and proper "No Thank YOU" ready for if they go for the kill! They must think I'm a right stuck up mare!!
Oh yes, you have to find a skating smiley if you are off ice skating. Are you a Jane Torvill or a Bambi on the ice rink!?:rotfl:

Well done KT, I always got suckered in too. Explains why I'm on the 100 day challenge and haven't bought any beauty products as I already have so many:o

KtJazz and Piq - oooh, I don't know about posting my list on here!
I shall have to do some editing in rather out! :rotfl:
Good luck ice-staking tomorrow KtJazz. Both times I have done it I have ended up with lots of brusises...they turn up in the strangest of places! Perhaps your other mission for today should be to find a poor bruised bum smilie...that would be me!

Hello again! Sorry for the delay in updating. I've had a lot to say and not a lot of time to type it all in.
Yesterday I picked up my donated Christmas tree. It's been a little bit like a friends version of freecycle (seeing as the real freecycle keep rejecting me - seriously, 3 times now!) It will be going up possibly on Thursday (basically whenever the flat is in some kind of order)
I wanted to tell you all about how good the skating was and I'm sure you all wanted to know how many times I fell... Well sorry to disappoint but I didn't fall at all. We had to call off the skating on account of weather. It was chucking it down! Instead, when we finally left the hotel room - OH fell asleep before Piq starts again!, We got completely soaked walking around the German market, drinking German beer and having a good old chin wag.
Later on we went to my favourite pub/club in Edinburgh and talked and talked some more. We actually had a conversation instead of our usual favoured form of communication... rotational monologues.
As for money saving, forget it! Everything was last minute but It was needed and we both had so much fun that I don't think either of us bothered. All I can say is thank you tax man for having OH on the wrong code for 18months!
Update on '100things' list.
It is a very slow process, none of the Edinburgh things got done I'm thinking most of them are summer activities.
I am hoping to do some of the free and/or easy things during the Christmas holidays.
KT.
ps, I've decided my Christmas lights are only going on if there is someone other than me in the flat. Thats MSE, right?:hello: - Proud to be dealing with my debts!:j DFW nerd No. 1011!

Sounds like a great weekend, really glad you had a good time.
Decent conversations are wonderful, completely under-rated too. So many people don't realise that to have a conversation you have to listen as well as talk.
Not sure about only having the Christmas lights on only when someone's around. I always think a non sparkly tree looks sad.... I am a going to be a wastrel and have my tree lights on when I'm around. Having said that, I do need to actually put the lights on the tree
