KTjazz - the great life overhaul

Hello everyone :hello:,
I've decided to join quite a few of the others on here and start a diary. (I hope I keep it up to date...) There is so much in my life that I want to change and being honest, the journey has already begun. The main things are my debt, my career, my weight/body shape and my procrastination and laziness. I am the only person who can change any of it, so here goes...
A little about me
I am a 25 year old girl who this time last year was signing the paperwork for the mortgage for my first ever flat.
I have a great boyfriend who, as much as I love him, is rubbish with his money at the moment, but is getting better.
I volunteer for Samaritans.
I play bass trombone in an orchestra.
I knit.
I am fluent in British sign Language and am working towards it being my career.
I currently work as an analytical chemist.
I wrote a '100things to do before I'm 30' list and have a very long way to go with it...
I am pretty sure anyone who knows me even a tiny bit has now positivly identified me...:o
What I want to change...
My debt is not huge. I have never been in the position that I can't pay towards it. That doesn't mean I don't want it gone though. I'd love to be debt free and with enough savings to finish my flat and finish my before 30 list. There are things I am paying for that are not on my signature though...
I am in the process of gaining more qualifications in British Sign Language (BSL) woth the hope of it being my main career in 2009 sometime. One problem, these qualifications cost money, and a lot of it, and that is before you add the cost of books and DVDs and a webcam...
I am unhappy with how I look. I am overweight and unfit. I have a gym membership that I use sporadically (I know, shoot me now...). I have a new plan that should keep me interested past the 8 week barrier I usually get stuck at. if I don't say I am exercising please pester me. I will also be making huge improvements to my current diet.
As for my procrastination and laziness, I am hoping that the diet and exercise changes will give me more energy. I need to get organised to make the being less lazy plan much easier...
'The Big Clearout' is an ongoing project to rid my life of much of the rubbish I am hoarding just now, be it to charity shop, or sold or in some cases just binned.
I best go while some of you are still awake...

redsquirrel80, PercyPig, dancingfairy - thanks for replying so quickly!
It just feels like the time has come...
as for the before 30 list Percy, I'm not sure I will complete it. There is some travel on there I have no idea how I'll ever pay for... I have done two of the most dificult things though - buy property and volunteer for Samaritans. I'm going to give it a bloomin' good try though!
I might post the list on here some time actually. Much of it is very silly indeed.
Thanks for your support! I hope I don't let you down.

You don't sound lazy at all! You sound like a really busy and interesting person with lots of different interests - so what if one of them isn't going to the gym- you're definitely not alone there!
I was reading in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday a small graph to show the benefits of mortgage overpayments (small print on your policy permitting) and even a relatively small amount like an extra £50 per month made a big difference to the term of the mortgage and to the total amount of interest paid aver the term. I'll try and find a link for you. I'm a bit dense so don't hold your breath!

KT what an inspiring and interesting person you are! I can't wait to read the next installment of your diary. :T
Clearing out is good for you mentally and physically so you should find many other aspects of your life falling into the right place. I think you should post your 100 list up here to inspire the rest of us too
One small thing.......there does appear to be a lack of dots in your diary, have you given them up?
