  • Hi KTJazz - I love your list and it sounds like you have inspired lots of people who have read this thread. I did my own list a couple of years back, I will have to dig it out and see how many of the things I have achieved.

You sound like a lovely selfless person and I am sure you will achieve everything you set your heart on

    MissO x

P.S - Im a knitter too, infact I have just taught myself to crochet as well and am in the middle of making a big throw!

andan - I would LOVE to read in the car but I can't, three reasons 1. My car share is chatty 2. I get car sick if I try to read and 3. I usually fall asleep as soon as we hit the motorway... It's become a running joke that I can fall asleep anytime anywhere... but I'm thinking earlier to bed would do me good regardless.

Bagpuss - Thank you! I hope you get to Scuba some time soon

Sophiesmum - Thank you SO much for that link! I have dropped some heavy hints to OH but if he doesn't take the hints then I'll get one myself :rotfl:

MissOptimistic - I'm not selfless, quite the opposite. I am addicted to the warm fuzzy feeling that doing nice things gives me. It's all for me really (does that make me a bad person?). I'm thinking 'Learn to crochet' is going on my before 40 list.

I better go for the moment. more updates later

  • I found crochet really hard to learn - I really only wanted to learn to make a 'granny square' and now I have about 60 - waiting to be sewn together into a throw.
Even if you do nice things for the way it makes you feel - its still nice!

  • KT - and half years ago I was on a plane to New Zealand. I was 29 years old (and 2 months) and I watched that film called 30 things for 30. I thought how cool it would be to write a list of things to do before I was 30. While in NZ I bungy jumped and went on a helicopter for the first time decided these should be the first things on my list. I never actually wrote a list down, but the week after I jumped, I learnt I was 5 weeks pregnant, which kind of put a stop to the list.Having a baby would have not been on the list (that was to do when I was 30, not before! lol). Dont get me wrong, i have done a lot of things in my life that could have been on my list. I am now inspired to do a list of 30 things to do before I am 30, as like the people in th film, I am not 30 anymore.
I also have a campervan, we bought it as a camper, but have resprayed it and had engine rebuilt, so still "done it up."
I will be popping in to read your diary, but until then, see you on the daily thread.

Hi KT, just wanted to say I'm enjoying your thread and your positive attitude - it's really inspiring.

After reading your list I have started putting a 30 things to do by 30 list. I am 25 on Wednesday, so I think this is a perfect time for me to do it. I might post the full list somewhere on the forum when it is 'finalised' (I have 31 at the moment  ), but here is a taster:

Visit all the continents (I've got Africa, S America and Antarctica  to go)
    Live abroad for a year
    Clear debts
    Get TEFL qualification
    Learn first aid
Own an expensive piece of jewellery
Move out of my parents house

I want to find 30 things that I can genuinely do if I put my mind to it. If I can complete all or most of them I think I will be a happy 30 year old as I write my 40 things to do by 40 list :).

KT, just wanted to say how great it is that your list has inspired so many people and that you are trully inspirational.

Regarding your comment about doing things to help others as it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, that is not a bad thing at all, in fact its great that you own up to it. I have been learning about that on my counselling course and learnt that in fact, often when we do things for others its because one way or another it does something for us. Whats great is its a win win situation, you feel great and your doing something great for others.

I like coming on here as it keeps motivating me to work on my list!

Thanks sophiesmum regarding the star thing, will do that and get it crossed off my list!!
