  • Shame about the skating, but sounds like you had a great time none-the-less. I love Edinburgh....very jealous of you!

I'm with Piq on the tree lights thing....I have them on when I'm in unless its broad daylight and you wouldn't be able to see them anyway).

    Hello everyone!

It's been a couple of days since I updated. Being honest I have been haemoraging money so figured posting here was a little hypocritical.

I finally got the cheque from my mum and dad's house (The one for my insurance claim) I put that £400 in the bank yesterday.

During 'The Great Clearout' I am ashamed to say I found an unbanked cheque for £26 so I banked that yesterday too (It was from July...)

Almost all my Christmas presents are now bought, tree is up and I am feeling very much on top of things. I just want to get on with the big Christmas clean now so I can relax for my holiday.

So, I have made a decision. I have planned how I am going to work with my money next year. I am going to budget quite tightly for 11months of the year. But I have decided that December I am going to just let go and live. I figure that I'll possibly have saved a little bit and also I'll be in the right frame of mind to take away the restrictions and not just blow everything I have.

In the next couple of days I am hoping to post quite a lot here. I want to post a little review of my year and also a post with my New Years resolutions. I may even get really brave and post a SOA (but that is a very big maybe and I probably won't)

We can all save money, be frugal and restrict ourselves but lets live too! Life is too short not to.

Looking forward to your review of the year. I often get reflective at this of year - and have even started my big plan/resolutions for 2009!

    Have a lovely day/weekend

Oh, quick addition - I was home all alone last night but after I decorated the tree the poor thing looked to sad I HAD to put the lights on.

I think I'll be keeping the tree happy and having it's lights on whenever I'm in.

Phew, thank goodness for that!! need a sparkly tree and I'm fairly sure the lights aren't too expensive.... well, mine are on too:j and very pretty they are too...

I'll join you in the eleven month splurge on debts, we manage to keep each other going most the time, so I'll be there with you. I've decided to not worry about the figures too much this month as long as they don't go up, I'll be happy!
