As for the quality of the camera, after playing with it for a couple of hours teh only thing that might cause a problem for people is the amount of time it takes for the flash to recharge (but this is from a novice photographer with their first digital camera) so others might have more compliants, but I do think it is a good deal.

In all fairness the flash issue is not unique to the 5600, it's with most of the Coolpix range including it's big brother the 67000 -
Another problem with these cameras is that they consume so much battery power!! i think i should buy a camera that recharges. Might save me some more money!тнє ѕє¢яєт тσ ¢яєαтινιту ιѕ кησωιηg нσω тσ нι∂є уσυя ѕσυя¢єѕ0

I've had a 3100 for 3 years, it's been a great camera, all the better for being able to use disposable batteries. I've used Panasonic CRV3 lithium batteries, which last for around 250 pictures, I buy the CRV3s in bulk from Picstop, who are lightning quick at delivery.
Chocshake - hope my SD card arrives tomorrow, then!I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -

Surely you use AA rechargable batteries such as 2500s?

You need to get Chocshake to get back to you with the name of the tubby who authorised it .. quote them, then you're laughing !!0 -
i did initially use rechargables but i found they were running out quicker, therefore i switched however i now realise there must have been a short as now it wont switch on. So at the mo. im using my mobile to take my vids n clips will do for now.тнє ѕє¢яєт тσ ¢яєαтινιту ιѕ кησωιηg нσω тσ нι∂є уσυя ѕσυя¢єѕ0

No, it sounds like sensible design since the "complicated settings" are available. My only quibble would be that you cannot save other settings as the defaults.
Anyway, this is getting tiresome, your incessant complaints about a camera you haven't asked for are beginning to sound like no more than trolling.
If anyone is intereseted in independant reviews of digital cameras I can highly recommend http://www.steves-digicams.com and their forums are a great place for discussing the relative merits of different cameras (like the 5200 vs the 5600 perhaps?) http://www.stevesforums.com/forums
Take care0
