Surely they have proof at their end that they have offered this deal - why should the onus be on you to do so !!!0 -
Well done chocshake,
I ordered and had confirmation emails for two 5200s. I then got the funny olympus emails. I rang to see what was up and they confirmed the 5200s were available and that I could ignore the 'system error' emails about the olympus. The following day, the web status changed to cancelled on one and later the second. I was not best pleased
I wish I had read of your success before I started the heavy negotiating. I had seen £50 offers reported so that was my target. The supervisor that I spoke with agreed that £30-35 was routinely offered by the call center staff, (to get more requires a supervisor) and was readilly prepared to up it to £40. She claimed she had not made any £50 offers and did not know of any that had been made, but agreed it for me as a 'one off' So I have accepted £50 off each of two 5600s.. At least my daughter and wife will still get their cameras even if they are not the ones I originally wanted.0 -
The good news: 5600 just arrived, it was delivered by TNT, I signed for it and away the guy went.
Bad news: There's no SD card in the box.
What this site needs is a crying with frustration emoticon!
RedonRed or anyone else who's received the 5600 - where exactly was the SD card? I've been through everything, no success.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
If I recall the 5200 spec is superior to that of the 56000
-
What do you reckon the likliness of someone who did not buy the 5200 getting in on the £35-£50 off the 5600 bandwagon....!?
Also dismayed to hear your sd card wasn't in the box lulubelle.... You would think they would check after all the hassle... although maybe they sent it out seperately?! Thats all I can think off.0 -
I'll be speaking to some tubby in Ireland in 10mins - I'll mention it to them when they suggest they are givin me a good deal !!0

Yes, but the 5200 is history. There's no where you can get it now, other then maybe Ebay, a refurb, or a guy in Hong Kong that will send it to you with a Chinese manual and a 2 pin plug and won't communicate with you again.0 -
eggey,
probably very little, as they want your web order reference and link every thing to that on their system, no order means no order number means no way to link the issue to an order so no deal.
If however you ring and ask for a discount you never know; but I doubt if they will believe you placed an order which was cancelled without the reference.0 -

I know, but he probably thought i was pulling his leg. He said to me if i get proof of this deal to email him (he sent me a blank email) and they would match the deal. I think that now they are just Clutchinh on straws.
He tried to tell me that if you pay by switch (which i did) then you havent entered a contract because the apparently they direct debit the money from your account whereas if you paid by credit card the payment is instant. I told him he was just trying to fob me off he should stop trying to pull the wool over my eyes!! And then I explained to him actually retailers prefer people to pay with debit cards as there usually isn’t a fee for the retailer unlike credit cards!! Stupid man. Chockhake thanks again. :jтнє ѕє¢яєт тσ ¢яєαтινιту ιѕ кησωιηg нσω тσ нι∂є уσυя ѕσυя¢єѕ0 -

Geez - why do you give in so easily ?
You've got to fight for what's right - if Apple are already happy to offer these deals straight away, what will they offer when they are threatened with bad press etc. !!0
