Can anyone who's received a 5600 tell me if the card came seperately? Thanks!

You have to order the card with the camera, otherwise you will NOT get one.

It clearly says on the apple site Free 256Mb card when ordered with camera.

Yeah, but I might be prepared to overlook that under the circumstances.

By the way, i've rang Apple again saying that some people are getting the 5600 price mactched with 5200. A CS guy asked around a bunch of supervisors who all concluded that's unheard of.

So unless I can find out the supervisor's name that has approved this offer, I will only be getting the initial offer.

Calling choc (what's your name) who was the supervisor that approved the price match?

You see it depends to which number you are calling. because i spoke to Dermot in aftersales and explained the situation and he said the only way to get discount is speaking to sales and asking them and thats how they budged slightly. i shall keep on at them.

Well I just ordered the camera and in my online order details it says the card is coming too - none of which i've received yet.

The thing is that the CS people have placed the order for us anyway. So the onus is on them to get it right.

Mine came in a seperate box not attached to the other, so with any luck yours is out there....

To the others who are asking, as I mentioned in my earlier post I didn't deal with them, all I know is that it was a (very nice) Customer Care Supervisor. At the moment my mum's at work, when she gets home I'll see if she remembers her name. In all fairness they should have a record of all the discounts, so I'm suprised they can't track it!

As for the quality of the camera, after playing with it for a couple of hours teh only thing that might cause a problem for people is the amount of time it takes for the flash to recharge (but this is from a novice photographer with their first digital camera) so others might have more compliants, but I do think it is a good deal.

I'll post later if I can get a name for you, sorry I can't be mush more help at the moment

Is that despite using a fast SD card?

I haven't a clue how fast my SD card is, I'm using the one that is suggested on the first page (ordered it when I first ordered the 5200). Its a Toshiba SD- M512 if that means anything, but with out the flash going it doesn't take as long.

    Sounds a bit pants.

Actually, my brother in law said that he had a Nikon digital camera a few years back and it was the worst camera he's had for lag in between shots.

If mines like that (which it most likely will be) it'll be going back and they can give me the full price back on it for a refund. I'll renegotiate the price back up...lol
