mse seems to be broken
Anyway, this won't help many, but for any Boots tarts with bulging Advantage cards who missed out on this offer ... then the 4.0MP Nikon 4200 is being offered instore for £114.99 (at Boots, of course). This is the slightly lesser specced 4.0MP version of the Nikon 5200. It shares the same compact metal body, 3x optical zoom lens and rechargeable Li-ion battery as the 5200 however. It's not as good an offer as the original Apple deal, but not bad if you've acquired lots of (ahem) free Advantage points.
Also on the Boots flyer is the Fuji A340 (4.0MP 3x Zoom XD-card) for £57.50.
This is probably limited stock so get there quick!0 -

It was Apple that broke this contract, NOT YOU. - They are a multi-billion $$ company, they can easily find additional stock !!
Like any online retailer, their terms and conditions are there to protect them and not you and Apple's T&C's are no different.
The key point is...
2.6 Whilst we will make every effort to supply you with the Products listed on the Order Confirmation, there may be occasions where we are unable to supply these Products because, for example, (i) such Products are no longer being manufactured or available or (ii) we are unable to source relevant components or (iii) if there was a pricing error on the Apple Store Web Site. In such circumstances we will contact you to inform you and may suggest alternative Products that you might wish to purchase. If you do not accept our suggestions then we will cancel your Order in relation to those Products we cannot supply and repay you any money that you may have paid to us in respect of those Products. Subject to clause 11.2 below, repayment of such monies will be the extent of our liability to you if we are unable to deliver to you the Products you have ordered.

But people were receiving dispatch dates long before they claimed to have no stock - money was instantly taken from peoples accounts at the point of sale - in fact they were still selling these cameras 2 days ago.
Interesting to read that they are very keen in offering 35quid compensation - strange for a company that believes they have done nothing wrong
"for example, (i) such Products are no longer being manufactured or available " - these cameras are still available in vast quantities elsewhere (albeit at a higher price) - Apple obviously refuse to buy more.0 -
Maybe a dose of bad publicity is what's needed to shame Apple into action !!

Yes i to was quoted the T&C by the person on the phone, well what can you do. No matter how much you go on if they say they aint no stock well they have no stock.
What would you have done.
Stuck to your guns for a camera which they say they don't have.
Like others say some you win some you don't0 -
As far as I'm concerned this is not the end of the matter - Apple can not expect to get away with treating people with such comtempt
They say that they are out of stock, well they have taken my money in good faith an so can jolly well go and order some more - nearly every camera store has a supply of them0 -
They are going to ring me up tomorrow to ask what I've decided. They offered me £50 good will a couple of days ago. I think I'll get the 5600 with £50 off. Part of me thinks take the £50 and go else where but I want a camera. Good luck everyone else. If anyone can think of a better alternative please let me know.0

All these goodwill posts suggest they are worried about bad publicity - if that's the case I'm going to hold tight for a 5200 or a better offer0

To be fair, I'm not sure that Nikon make this camera anymore so it may be unrealistic to expect them to obtain some extra stock of it (After all it was an end of line discount). If you look around online, you will struggle to find the 5200 and although high street shops may have some stock, it is undoubtably old stock that they have left over. I'm sure you couldn't place an order for one anywhere.
I think if they are being generous if they offer people a cash compensation of about £50 - you should then be able to get a good camera for less than £89.99 (with the compensation).0
