    Hi.

Not seen this board before but thought this kit from readicut might be of interest to anyone just getting started. Or anyone who wants a huge supply of card making stuff.

Sadly I paid more than double for this from QVC about a year ago, but even at that price it is well worth the money. My mum was gutted that she missed out at the time so she was well pleased when I told her about it yesterday.

    Hope it helps someone

Furrypig, I have used a few punches over the years. Have a corner rounder one that I use all the time. Hobbycraft is quite a good place for a look to see what is available (can be a bit expensive so not necessarily the best place to buy). They had a good sale on punches earlier in the year and I bought some small ones for a friend's daughter for 25p each! X-cut punches are good - I've got a lovely modern flower one that is really useful for all sorts of feminine cards.

Hi Rainmac thanks so much for replying to my question! Would you be able to tell me the name/size of the x cut one or do you have any pics of cards you've made using it?? i know the sort of thing I want (in my head!!) but not sure where to get it from etc etc. We do have a hobbycraft not that far away so may try there for ideas as suggested thanks xxx

The only card with the flower punch on I have a photo of is this one...

The punch is on this site (called 'flowerhead') http://www.docrafts.co.uk/asp/products/?p=310&brand=49

    Does that help?

Mel, love the unicorn card! And your colouring in is fantastic, doubt I would be able to get that kind of effect!

rainmac, love the paper on that card!

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Sorry, I cheated, the letters are stickers from a DCWV (Die Cuts With A View) scrapbook or card kit.

Thank you rainmac! Don't apologise! we all 'cheat' or as I call it 'improvise' from time to time to get the look we want. I recycle bits from cards sent to me if I can get them off the card without spoiling them.

hi i posted this on the grabbit too but just to let you know that wh smiths has packs of 50 pre-folded cards and envelopes (bright pastel colours) reduced from £11.99 to £2.99 - sold out on the web but i found some in wood green. HTH someone.

I visited WH Smith in Coventry city centre today. There were several card packs that I thought might fit this description but all marked as £11.99 per pack (no discount showing anywhere). I asked a sales assistant to price-check 3 different types: 1 pack (in a stiff plastic case) was £11.99, but the other 2 types (in shrink-wrap plastic) showed as £2.99 - so I bought those :D

If it helps anyone, the barcodes are 32349887 & 32350005; packs are 50 off 4" x 6" - 1 in pastel colours, the other described as 'Bright Blank Cards'.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
