Hey everyone, I have been AWOL for a bit on the cardmaking front! After asking Santa for 2 years to bring me some magnolia stamps.. I finally bought some for myself :)

Rainmac - really classy card. I love it how you use a piece of aida with the frayed edges rather than framing the piece. Do you buy the aida like that or do you do it yourself?
Furrypig - I have only ever used one punch and that was a small flower one, so I'm not much help, I got it from Home Bargains for 99p ages ago.
    I found another sale : http://www.gorillacrafts.co.uk/
its 40% off everything excluding clearance items, the postage is 2.85. I got a few dovecraft xmas bits - the winter wonderland range so that hopefully next year I will actually make some xmas cards. The brads are good value, and I got a few bits of ribbon and some flowers, and I was really naughty and I got a 12x12 paper stack, the dcwv once upon a time one, I love the papers, I'll probably never use half of them!
    Happy new year everyone!

Melissa - all I do is stitch the design on the aida or evenweave, cut round it leaving the same amount of 'edging' (usually 4 or 5 row/column blocks of aida) and then remove the threads from 2 blocks of aida - does that make sense???

Furrypig, I have used a few punches over the years. Have a corner rounder one that I use all the time. Hobbycraft is quite a good place for a look to see what is available (can be a bit expensive so not necessarily the best place to buy). They had a good sale on punches earlier in the year and I bought some small ones for a friend's daughter for 25p each! X-cut punches are good - I've got a lovely modern flower one that is really useful for all sorts of feminine cards.

pinkladymel - beautiful, beautiful, beautiful - love the detail and shading!

Rainmac - thanks for that - it makes perfect sense.

Pinkladymel - I hate you - those cards are gorgeous, I love the unicorn one, (I have a thing about unicorns).

Have just spent £20 at Gorilla Crafts on loads of bits and bobs in the sale. Couldn't resist with 40% off everything... I love a bargain :D

Got some card making bits, couple mini scrapbook kits and a cute little cross stitch kit for £1. Can't wait for it all to come :D
