For future reference, we got a rolled turkey crown from the butcher this year, and what a difference! Because it is an even thickness, it cooks evenly and was juicy and tasty. Definitely won't be doing a whole turkey or a flat crown again!
In the past, I have used dry leftover turkey with leftover ham and mushrooms in a creamy pasta sauce. Fry off some onions and mushrooms, add leftover meats and cream, plus black pepper and lemon juice to taste.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
We always do our turkey and chickens in oven roasting bags and have never had a dry poultry meal yet !!0

I must be boring, I just put in oven proof dish, pour gravy (from granuals
over) and cook in oven, gas mk 6 for 30 mins, comes out just fine.
Edited to add, ours was very dry this year as well, although it was sitting in about an inch of whatever that had drained off it!!! there were no juices to test to run clear.0 -
Have frozen down my leftover meat after giving some away to my DD.
Sorry that so many of you have had dry turkeys this year. Mine was one of the best I have ever cooked & was lovely and moist.0 -
Tonight we're having the last of the turkey chucked in a casserole dish with some gravy, topped with mashed potato and cooked in the oven until thoroughly reheated. Sort of like a turkey shepherds pie, ideal for dry turkey.Dum Spiro Spero0

Pie? Stew? Curry(delicious!!)
Chuck it in a mac'n'cheese? Something with lots of sauce and they'll never know, or freeze it in gravy/stock to use another time.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
