Turkey drumstick is lovely done in the slow cooker - bung in the drumstick with chopped onions, potatoes/other veggies of choice, pint or so of stock, herbs and seasoning. Leave it on all day, the meat will be falling off the bone by evening - then just strip the meat into the stew and take out the skin and bones. You can thicken it at the end of cooking with a traditional plain flour and fat gravy base or use granules/paste (cook for another 20 mins to blend flavours). I don't like this thickened with cornflour but that's just my taste.
I've also made lovely turkey casserole with turkey steaks and even turkey mince, as above.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I would do the same as above, turkey pieces/steaks/drumsticks or mince in sc with carrots onions, chicken stock and any other veg u fancy, let the slow cooker do the magic and then if u would like to you can thicken it up at the end0

Sounds yummy thanks. I have some turkey thigh diced will this work ?
Never used a slow cooker before just bought a small value one from Argos and thought I would give it a try. Failing that its back to the old cookpot on the gas hob!

Yes diced thigh is perfect, it has a little more fat than breast and has a lovely meaty taste. Should make a fabulous stew!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

What kind of Herbs and stock do I put in please? Alternatively which is the best 'packet mix' to add which may be cheaper for this 1 off meal?
Thanks.Failure is only someone elses judgement.

I forgot to make stock from the turkey today, is it too late tomorrow?
I tend to go by fourth day very latest. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

But young men think it is,
And we were young.
