I copied Phil's idea from "This Morning" and used up all the left overs from our Christmas lunch (turkey, roasts, sprouts, carrots, parsnips, stuffing, gravy, and some tarragon) and put on a top of puff pastry. I was really a bit dubious but got nothing but complimentsNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0

I have Christmas and Boxing day at my Mum and Dad's, this year we had a 14lb turkey, this saw us through:
5 x Dinners on Christmas Day
5 x Turkery and Chips on Boxing Day
Then my Mum divided up the left overs between us and them, she still has hers in the freezers, absolutley loads there is.
I have now used all mine, we have had or have frozen:
4 x turkey curry
12ish x sandwiches
2 x turkey and mushroom pie
We also put some on a meat platter on our NYE party.

One 16lb turkey:
> 5 Christmas dinners
> 3 turkey and honey roast ham salads boxing day
> 3 turkey, ham, chips & egg
> 5 turkey, ham salads
> turkey soup - at least 10 portions.
> turkey sandwiches - who knows:rotfl:
> oh and at least two dinners worth swiped by sis and BIL
> jelly & dripping on toast - tonnes:T Don't knock this till you've tried it (dripping as butter, just a scraping, and the jelly as the topping - you use it in gravy so don't just say yuk!)Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
I got a 9kg turkey breast for a £5!! (My ex got it from his work). It was way too big for me & DS and not a size I would normally go for but I couldn't resist the bargain and I knew I could use it up and it wouldn't get wasted.
It was fresh when I had it and I had to cut in half as it would not go in my freezer. So still have half in the freezer that hasn't been cooked yet.
So far the half of turkey that did get cooked has provided the following meals:-
3 x dinners for 2
1 x turkey curry
1 x spanish turkey
1 x turkey stirfry
Sandwiches
And I still have loads left, we'll still be eating it come next Xmas

We bought a 15lb turkey to feed 6. Bought a fresh organic brown turkey which cooked up really well.
We had our Christmas lunch out of it (obviously).
Turkey sandwiches for a couple of days for 6 of us.
Large bag of stripped turkey meat was frozen - half used for a curry.
The carcass was boiled up and half the stock plus the scrap meat was used on 27th for oriental style chicken noodle soup to feed our family of 4 plus two guests.
The other half of the stock is in the freezer. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
