I really do wish that all of those have had the benefit of receiving their 2nd emails who keep coming here and lecturing the unfortunates that have not would stop telling us that the FSCS are wonderful and how we should all love them to bits, don't they understand that we just wish to be left alone to 'wallow' in our misery and seek solace from our fellow sufferers, we don't want to love the FSCS for putting us through all this anxiety.
The FSCS are doing the job that we are all paying them to do' we don't have to love them for it, for all we know the people who are sending out the emails may have a vested interest in stringing the job out as long as possible! (note, I am not saying they are but we never know do we?)
Practically every person who is telling us to be patient and worship the FSCS have the benefit of getting at their cash which says it all really.0 -
Personally I think that as soon as we heard on here at the weekend that 2nd emails were going out, and today that money had indeed been deposited in nominated accounts, we knew that it was working. People have reported every type of account with every level of money, every letter of the alphabet etc so why would you think you're being forgotten if you got the 1st email? In fact I'm pretty sure there are some people who didn't get this 1st email who have had their 2nd, but I may be wrong.
Some people seem to be assuming they're at the BACK of the queue (DEC 4th) when by all accounts FSCS are barely through the first third, so please try to think positively, it's not good for your health to think negatively all the time. At least doing it by email they should be able to use every day of the week not just working days.
I think I see what you mean about getting everyone to set up the transfer, then transferring all the money at once being a better system, but maybe BACS or the banks own systems would have had trouble coping, unless you work for FSCS I suspect there's no way of knowing why they decided to do it the way they have.MFW #66 - £4800 target0 -
The system clearly is working as some people have gone through the whole payout process with 3 emails and their money in the nominated account.
What seems to be upsetting people is the loss of interest and/or the waiting.
I personally am not too fussed about the loss of interest. I have one fixed bond which matures beginning January so cannot make a decision about electronic or paper route yet. The bond is just below the 35K mark. Northern Rock was a real wakeup call for me. I had nothing with them but I didn't know about compensation limits until then. I had to rejig everything but at least I was in control of the timescale - a good thing too as some building societies/banks took up to 3 weeks to open accounts.
What bothers me about this sytem is that I am not in control of the timescale . I will happily wait until end November but want to know the date now so I can plan reinvestments.0 -
Veryunique, I suppose if you're not too fussed about the interest you could get some control back once the email arrives by initiating your claim when your reinvestment vehicles are ready, afterall you don't have to claim it the moment you get the email. Not the best solution perhaps, but it might take some of the sting out of the waiting.MFW #66 - £4800 target0

Just imagine if the Treasury had somehow managed to keep paying us depositors our initial interest rates until the money had been returned to our linked accounts. Now that rates have been slashed, we'd only be having a quick peep at our inbox once a day, hoping to find it empty. We'd have been praying for the FSCS to take the full 6 months to return our dosh, or that they were all struck with flu, or that their computer system kept crashing. The list would have been reversed losers first, winners second............the mind boggles.

I keep pressing button B and holding my breath just knowing that this time the second email will be in my mail box. Wrong! And now I've come over all woozily for lack of oxygen..._pale_Every rule has an exception.......:rolleyes20

The first monies should have come from Iceland and the passport scheme, so that could have been another six months before the FSCS were even called in.
Rather than twelve months, everyone will be paid out within two months (if they want to be). The fact that some are paid out a couple of weeks before others is frankly small beer.
If you don't like what the FSCS is doing, maybe you should waive your claim, and try and get your cash by the conventional passport scheme instead?
Get a perspective. It's frustrating, but it's a week or two away. You've come this far!
get a grip??? not sure i like that, sounds like you are insulting me
why you are contributing to this forum, haven't you already had your savings reimbursed?
your comments are not wholly accurate and i suggest you check your sources before potentially misleading someone
clearly you are having some problems in grasping some of the intricacies of this fiasco
i consider the inequitable treatment of savers a travesty which does nothing less than add insult to injury
we all contribute to the funding of the FSCS and deserve equal treatment0 -

....lulz! You can bet that some people would be thinking like that, yeah.
I wouldn't be one of them though, the £70 interest a month I'd be getting would not make up for the £140 I'd lose when my first 0% card deal ends in January. No, I'll take the November payout thanks, and count my lucky stars. Get the whole episode over with so that all of us Icesavers can have a happy Christmas.:beer:0 -
Quoted from the FSCS website
Its been a hell of a lot faster than the quoted time. Thats good enough for me to class it as a good job!
How is it not getting there? I personally have my compensation now. Many others are on their 2nd email. Seems like it's working to me.
So? I doubt it is, probably more to do with the fact the icesave website can only handle so much traffic. You can't have everyone going through at once, a managed flow ensures there are no problems.
Treatment of savers? Everyone has been kept up to date. People have been given a time limit on the latest date they will receive their compensation, and a phone number/email to contact if they have and problems.
I'm happy to waive my rights in exchange of not dealing with the passport scheme, and getting my money back asap.
Yes, it does, doesn't it
thanks for the entertainment monkeydog
do you work for the FSCS PR department?
this is exactly the kind of quality i would expect them to produce0
