If it wasn't for the excellent work of F, B would have had to wait maybe a year without interest. Anything better than that is a bonus for B, not a cause for complaint.

i really don't get it - the FSCS is not doing a great job
the FSCS is doing something as opposed to nothing which falls far short of doing a great job
the FSCS is attempting to do what it is funded to do but due to lack of experience and effort is not getting there
FSCS is staggering payments for the benefit of the FSCS and the Treasury
if i had received payment by now, i would not be espousing the virtues of the FSCS, i would see the clear inequitable treatment of some savers which is the reality
i am also amazed that greater concern is not being expressed by the demand made od savers to waive rights to make a claim from landsbanki
it seems that a lot of people are living on another planet and seeing things through rose tinted glasses0 -
Still waiting for 2nd email here.
Nothing more to add at this stage, except GET A F***ING MOVE ON!0 -

I love algebra.
Calculated as a quadratic equation it can be simplified to FB minus ABF squared equals FAB.

Hey! Chin up, we've had the first report of someone receiving an email today on sloughflint's thread :j :T :j :T“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

... Get a grip! I think we can assume this as exceptional circumstances, so they could have easily taken six months after being called in before they paid everyone out.
The first monies should have come from Iceland and the passport scheme, so that could have been another six months before the FSCS were even called in.
Rather than twelve months, everyone will be paid out within two months (if they want to be). The fact that some are paid out a couple of weeks before others is frankly small beer.
If you don't like what the FSCS is doing, maybe you should waive your claim, and try and get your cash by the conventional passport scheme instead?
Get a perspective. It's frustrating, but it's a week or two away. You've come this far!0 -

Could you explain why you think that you should be entitled to make a further claim from the bank itself once you have already received full compensation via the FSCS?0 -

Quoted from the FSCS website6. How long will it take to process my claim?
After a declaration of default, FSCS aims to process all claims within six months. However, the time this takes depends very much on the type of claim.
Its been a hell of a lot faster than the quoted time. Thats good enough for me to class it as a good job!in_the_cold wrote: »the FSCS is attempting to do what it is funded to do but due to lack of experience and effort is not getting there
How is it not getting there? I personally have my compensation now. Many others are on their 2nd email. Seems like it's working to me.in_the_cold wrote: »FSCS is staggering payments for the benefit of the FSCS and the Treasury
So? I doubt it is, probably more to do with the fact the icesave website can only handle so much traffic. You can't have everyone going through at once, a managed flow ensures there are no problems.in_the_cold wrote: »if i had received payment by now, i would not be espousing the virtues of the FSCS, i would see the clear inequitable treatment of some savers which is the reality
Treatment of savers? Everyone has been kept up to date. People have been given a time limit on the latest date they will receive their compensation, and a phone number/email to contact if they have and problems.in_the_cold wrote: »i am also amazed that greater concern is not being expressed by the demand made od savers to waive rights to make a claim from landsbanki
I'm happy to waive my rights in exchange of not dealing with the passport scheme, and getting my money back asap.in_the_cold wrote: »it seems that a lot of people are living on another planet and seeing things through rose tinted glasses
Yes, it does, doesn't it :rolleyes:0 -
